Materials: “Community Day Helper” book by Stephanie Chadwick, “Who Am I” Community Helper
PowerPoint, and Community Helper worksheets. _________________________________________

Procedure: Ask initial questions about what students want to be when they grow up. Then counselor
discusses different types of careers and read book to students. After reading counselor will have
another discussion about the books and the types of Community Helpers they learned about and
then do an interactive PowerPoint in which students have to figure out the clues/hints and guess the
community helper. Counselor will then give worksheet in which students will find the letters that
spells the community helper on their worksheet and color. _________________________________

Process Data: Students are able to identify at least two careers and how they help in the community

Perception Data: Weekly follow-ups and check-ins for students to report improvement or success of

Follow Up: follow-up and additional discussions to build or assess knowledge attained from the
