A project is a temporary and one-time exercise which varies in duration. It is

create a product or service or to change a business process.

Project management is the discipline of managing all the different resources

and aspects of the project in such a way that the resources will deliver all the
output that is required to complete the project within the defined scope, time,
and cost constraints.

All projects are designed for a specific period of time and the process of
project closure is an important aspect of project management. The purpose
of a formal closedown to the project is to address all issues generated by the
project, to release staff from the project and go through a 'lessons learnt'
exercise. At this stage a formal acceptance from the customer (the person for
whom the process product has been created) is gained to indicate their sign-
off on the project.

Q.7) Frame out the difference between the project management area

Q.8) Identify the key elements of the knowledge management area for
the functioning of the organization?

Ans.
Quality management is the process for ensuring that all project
activities necessary to design, plan and implement a project are
effective and efficient with respect to the purpose of the objective and
its performance.
Project quality management (QM) is not a separate, independent
process that occurs at the end of an activity to measure the level of
quality of the output. It is not purchasing the most expensive material
or services available on the market. Quality and grade are not the
same, grade are characteristics of a material or service such as
additional features. A product may be of good quality (no defects) andbe of
low grade (few or no extra features).

The Human resource management includes the processes required to

coordinate the human resources on a project. Such processes include those
needed to plan, obtain, orient, assign, and release staff over the life of the
project.
As we get better at project management -- through a better understanding of
team operation and by employing computerized scheduling, budgeting, and
work breakdown tools, for example -- the "surprises" (risks) that occur in
any project become more frustrating.

Project risk arises especially in product development projects by their very

nature. In product innovation, we are attempting something never done
before, so risk is naturally higher.
