SWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)

Select (S):
The lesson is about letter D, I will read a story, play songs, and I will use effective activities to increase
from the children’s motivation and make the lesson active and move with the flow.

Describe (D):
Who is the lesson for?
Where did the lesson take place?
What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?
What did the students do?

The lesson is for KG1, the lesson goes well, the children listen to my instructions well and they were active
and motivated, that’s makes me feel comfortable and relax. Actually today the classroom was not just my
class, we had a children from another class because their teacher is not here. I am so thankful for the
teacher that I have because she is managing her class well, and they listen to her instructions carefully. I
am blessed because the children get involved with me and like the lesson and the stuff I prepared for them,
They always like to dance and listen to stories. The story that I prepare I didn’t think that it was that
effective, but the children get involved, guess and answer my questions.
I achieve the both goals, which are classroom management, and voice tone. Even thought it is my first
time teaching, and we have extra children from other class, but I could control the situation and meet my
goals. Thank god my lesson goes well, I am so happy.
The most important thing is that they understood the lesson and like it.
After the break time, the teacher gave them worksheets to solve, and I help her in monitoring the low level
children, and I did, they were responding positively, and they finish it quickly. The SEN child which is
named Raphael, he respond positively and understand well, but his problem is that he is hyper active and
moves a lot, the teacher use a strategy with him, like if he get up from his chair she tell him that I will take
your chair, so he goes back and sit on his chair, she use this strategy and I use it too in case if he moves a
lot. The assistant in class is more focused on him and Khris, but Khris is absent today, she just stand near
them and if they move she bring them back to their seats.
Analyze (A):
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding?
How well did you engage the students?

The children responds was so positive and I didn’t find it hard to explain the lesson and the activities,
most of them understood it from the first time. Everything I prepare was in their level and the children
finish it quickly. But they didn’t feel bored that much because some of them took long time to finish.
I used the story as an engagement for the children and thank god it goes well, I was really happy because
the children’s responds were so positive.

Appraise (A):
Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective
Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?

I meet my teaching goals even thought it is my first time teaching, but I did it.

Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
What are the implications for your professional practice?

I may do an extra activity, for those children who finish first, so they won’t wait for their mates and get
bored.
