Amendment?
The unwritten rule for presidents were
they only served two terms or 8 years as
the president. Franklin D. Roosevelt
broke that tradition by seeking and
winning his third term in 1940, and then
his fourth term in 1944.
To prevent future presidents from
following this precedent, the 22nd
Amendment made the unwritten custom
limiting presidential terms a part of the
written Constitution.

president is the symbol of all the people
of the nation.
The chief executive is vested by the
constitution with the executive power of
the United States.
The chief administrator of the federal
government, heading the largest
government machines the world has
known.
Chief Diplomat is the main creator of
American foreign policy and the chief
spokesperson to the rest of the world
Commander in chief oversees the
nation’s military.
Chief citizen makes the president the
representative of all the people.
The formal qualifications for a person to
run for the presidential office are: Be a
natural born citizen, be at least 35 years
of age, have 14 years as a resident of the
United States.
Be a natural born citizen of the United
States. A person born abroad to
American citizen parents is legally an
American citizen at birth.
Be at least 35 years of age. John F.
Kennedy at age 43, was the youngest
person ever to be elected President.
Have been a citizen a citizen for 14 years
within the United States. Given the
elections of two presidents. They were
out the country for many years before
being elected president.
