SCHOOL HISTORY

Bindubashini Govt. Boys’ High School, commonly referred to as

Bindubashini Boys or B. B. Boys’, is a public boys' high school in
Tangail, Bangladesh. The school was established in 3rd April 1880,
patronized and endowed by Rani Bindubashini Chowdhurany and
named after her as Bindubashini Model High School.

It has a glorious history of 137 years of education, social work and

athletes. In 1996, Bindubashini Govt. Boys’ High School, Tangail
achieved the status of best high school in Bangladesh. It achieved 8th
place in Dhaka Board in the SSC examination, 2008, 5th place in
2011, it achieved 1st place among government high schools in
Bangladesh, and in 2017, it achieved 5th place in Dhaka Board. It was
placed 1st amongst the government schools of Bangladesh in the year
of 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2017. In 2015, this school was selected as
the best government high school of Bangladesh.

Former chief justice and former acting president of Bangladesh

Government Abu Syed Chowdhury, novelist Manik Bondopaddhay,
former director General of RAB and IG of Bangladesh Police Hasan
Mahmud Khandaker and such type of honorable persons are studied
here and became successful in their relevant field of work.

Bindubashini Govt. Boys’ High School has a history in both cricket

and football games. In 1996, this school won the Inter school football
Champions trophy among Bangladesh. In 2010 the junior football
team crossed Mymensingh division. In inter district football premier
league, our school becomes champion almost every year.
TOURNAMENT HISTORY

The alumni of our school, decided to arrange a football tournament to

increase the communication between the current students, the alumni
and the honorable teachers. In the era of digitalization, inter personal
relationship is decreasing day by day. In 2016, the alumni of 2008
batch of the school organized this tournament for the first time with a
view to minimize this distance and create an opportunity for all the
present and former students of this school to get together. Fourteen
batches, from 2004 to 2017 of this school participated in the
tournament previous year.

Bindubashini Boys’ Football Championship has become the most

important and significant opportunity of building up collaboration and
friendly relation among the students, faculties and alumni of the
Bindubashini Govt. Boys' High School, Tangail. Besides that, there
are some good young energetic players in the school. So, through this
tournament they will get an opportunity to show their talent and try to
find new potential talent who can contribute to Bangladesh football.

This year, we, the alumni of 2009 batch will be organizing the
tournament. This year. Sixteen batches, from 2003 to 2018 will be
participating in the tournament. The tournament shall include 31
matches where matches in group stage, quarter-final, semi-final and
final will be held. This is already the most interesting and most
anticipated tournament among not only the students but also the
people of Tangail.

N.B. The Jersey Launching Ceremony will be held at Tangail Pouro

Uddan, and the matches will be held at Tangail Stadium, and shall be
open for all. So, we are expecting around 3000-5000 more attendees.
