This function is based on the phase-selec-
tive measurement of the three phase cur-
rents and the earth current (four trans-
formers). Two definite-time overcurrent
protection elements (DMT) exist both for
the phases and for the earth. The current
threshold and the delay time can be set
within a wide range. In addition, inverse-
time overcurrent protection characteristics
(IDMTL) can be activated.

Software data management and communi-

Powerful engineering tools (SICAM plus
TOOLS on the basis of STEP7 and SICAM
WinCC) make working with SICAM con-
venient. The SIPROTEC 4 units are opti-
mally matched for use in SICAM SAS and
SICAM PCC.
