17-18 Algebra 1 Term 1

CONTRACT FOR RECOVERY

TO EARN CREDIT
*Work through the tasks for only one standard at a time.
1. Complete the tasks outlined below for each standard you missed. It is expected that you take notes throughout
the tasks and work through the problems with the videos. Khan Academy videos can be found on Khan
Academy or stacyblemaster.weebly.com. Bookwork, worksheets, quizzes, practice activates must be completed
with 100% correctness.
2. Create a one-sided cheat sheet to use on the standards test. (The notes you took during the tasks will help
create a good cheat sheet!)
3. Take the standards test for each standard. You must earn 60% or higher to pass the standard.

TASKS:
 BF.BFM – Build a function that models a relationship between two quantities
1. Go to PHSchool.com, in the web code box type
a. ATE - 0504. Watch "Writing a function from a table."
b. ATE - 0504. Watch "Writing a function from words."
c. ATA - 0504. Take the quiz and print your results.

 BF.BNF – Build new functions from existing functions


1. Find your Families of Functions packet (Linear & Exponential). If you don't have it, make another one.
2. Worksheet: Alg 1 CR T1 Buidling New Functions from Exisiting Functions
a. Work through the worksheet using the MVLM Grapher manipulative.
i. Go to http://nlvm.usu.edu/en/nav/vlibrary.html and click on the Algebra & 9 - 12 cell.
ii. Open the GRAPHER manipulative.
iii. Currently there is a blue function f(x). Make f(x) = x.
iv. Below that are three tabs: Parameters, Window, Functions. Click on th3 Functions tab.
v. Make g(x) the red function and h(x) the green function.

 CED.CED – Create equations that describe numbers or relationships


1. Read Algebra 1 Prentice Hall Ch 6.3 and complete Quick Checks 1, 2a, 2b.
2. Read Algebra 1 Prentice Hall Ch 8.8 and complete Quick Checks 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a-5c
3. Worksheet: Alg 1 CR T1 Create equations that describe numbers or relationships.

 IF.AFU – Analyze functions using different representations


1. Find your Families of Functions packet (Linear & Exponential). If you don't have it, make another one.

Slope Intercept Form."
