Part 1: Choose a photograph of the most beautiful Colombian city
where you have been to. Send the photo where you appeared and
describe that place.

For me, San Andrés is a place full of magic and beauty, where you can
see its sea of seven colors that houses colorful fish and corals full of life
that enchant travelers is spectacular. It is an island entertained by its
people, its beaches, its culture and its good food. I like it because it is
an ideal place to go shopping, since everything you buy in San Andrés
has no taxes.

Part 2: Answer the following questions about the city you chose:

a. Where is the city? San Andrés is located 80 km from the coast of

Nicaragua and to the northwest of the coast of Colombia to 775
kilometers. It is the largest island of the archipelago, it is
surrounded in its northwest part by the third barrier of coral on a
global scale and of several keys that are the heart of a varied
marine fauna and flora, so they are visited by a multitude of
tourists every year.

b. What is the city like? San Andres have a culture wonderful and
totally different to what you can find in the rest of Colombia;
descendants of a mixture between the British and the Africans, the
Raizales are in themselves a combination of languages, customs
and beliefs. The majority of its inhabitants speak Spanish, English
and Creole, which is the language of this region. Of the
gastronomy to speak, its main course is the Rondón and its
Caribbean drinks like the Crazy Coconut are the sensation between
the tourists. As for the music there is a big rhythms variety
highlighting between them the Reggae and of course, its most
representative holidays like the festival of the crab, Green Moon
Festival and the Reign of the Coconut are the reflex of the wealth
and the cultural coloring of this beautiful island.

c. What is the weather like? The climate of the island is warm,

where two seasons dominate summer and winter. The winds help a
little to relieve the heat. In general during the year the rains are
defined by a dry season and a rainy one. The first has a variable
duration that can reach five consecutive months, while the
following months are rainy, with strong winds, mainly the second
week of June, this year the island has a threat of hurricanes that
would touch the Island.

d. How big is the city? It is shaped by two municipalities: San

Andrés and the municipality of Providence and Santa Catalina
Islas. It is the only insular department of Colombia and in addition
to San Andrés, the biggest island of the country; it consists of
other islands, keys and islets on the volcanic platform of the
Occident of the Caribbean Sea.

e. What is the best thing about it? The best of San Andrés is to
know its coloring architecture and its exquisite gastronomy with
flavor to Caribbean Sea, not only it is beach, also it is provided
with other tourist places to visit and to show to the world.
Unimaginable experiences can be lived in the middle of a marine
ambience with nature tied to the sea. The sea of 7 colors, a
spectacle that is due to the different depths of the sea and to the
type of the seabed around the island. This sea is among the most
beautiful in the world and drives the group of the most colorful, a
motive of weight for visiting San Andrés.

f. How is the traffic in the city? The routes of the archipelago

department are atypical and do not retain the same parameters as
the roads of the rest of the nation, since there are no routes of
municipal interconnections or municipal development towns, nor
the total continuity of roads and the Clear securitization of the
same, concentrating this problem in residential areas of access to
neighborhoods or populated areas of the island.

Part 3: Write a text about your ideal city of Colombia to visit on your
vacations. Use at least two pictures related to this place. Each
paragraph must have minimum four (4) sentences and maximum six (6)
sentences:

Villa de Leyva intimately linked to the history of Colombia.

My ideal city of Colombia to visit in my vacations is Villa de Leyva.

Villa de Leyva is a beautiful colonial town located 40km west of Tunja.
The climate is sunny and dry with an average temperature of 180 ° C.
Where tourists can see its colonial style architecture and its varied
rural landscapes. Also outstanding is its huge cobblestone main
square where care must be taken when walking, since it is surrounded
by old colonial houses. The town will be considered one of the most
beautiful in Colombia, being one of the most important tourist
destinations in the country. In Villa de Leyva the visitor should enjoy
activities such as ecological walks, cycle rides, horseback riding and
many more.

In addition there are many cultural plans to do and enjoy such as

restaurants, museums, craft shops and artists. It is an ideal colonial
town to spend a holiday season, where tourists always say "We will go
to Villa de Leyva this summer"

As an additional attractive element, the town has established a series

of massive events and festivals that attract large numbers of people
promoting commerce and tourist services with an excellent offer of
hotels, restaurants and places for rest and contact with nature, all
Tourists will play and enjoy the activities until late.

The positive is that it is a colonial style city, recognized by thousands

of tourists where it will be a perfect place where tourists can rest, also
has a large hotel infrastructure suitable to provide tourists with a
welcoming experience. Now, the negative of the city, the commerce
should not deceive the tourists since the commercial prices are not
affordable.
