St. Peter’s College of Engineering and
Technology was established by Lakshmi
Saraswathi Educational Trust in the year 2008.
The College aims to impart training to students
to develop their intellectual powers, cultivate
interest, talents and train them to become
responsible & eminent citizens in India. The
college runs nine UG programmers five PG
programmers and aims to develop a top class
professional institution in the years to come,
thus providing training to students to take up
challenging assignments and contribute to
national and international development. The
College is located in calm and serene
environment in Avadi and is easily commutable
by bus and train.
THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Mechanical engineering
were established in the year 2008 with the basic
objective of providing a quality learning
environment in terms of inspiring teachers,
state-of-the-art facilities, experience sharing
and widening the Knowledge, interacting with
experts from academia and industry, facilitating
the student in the process of growth in the
mechanical engineering fields. The Department
offers B.E Mechanical Engineering with
approved intake of 180 students. The
Department of Mechanical Engineering has well
equipped laboratories in order to meet the
needs of present industries.
THE WORKSHOP
The purpose of the workshop is to provide an
open forum focused on recent strategies on
product design and manufacturing in defense
sector such as light compact aircraft, missiles,
vehicles, automotives, tanks, weapons, etc. It
will provide an overview of current state of the
art, highlighting the latest developments in this
domain and to explore innovative approaches in
the area.
Eminent scientists, academia elites and
industrial representatives share their research
based ideas in these specific fields. Participants
will have the opportunity to share their
expertise, gain rich knowledge by various
lectures and informal discussions. It is a
platform for the exchange of information and
ideas on the progress of research and
development in product design and
manufacturing in defense sectors.

To assimilate the knowledge on product design
and manufacturing by eminent scientists with
reference to application in missile, space,
submarine, aircrafts, armored tanks.
To Explore and elaborate on needs of new
trends and possibilities, looking at the
development of product design and
manufacturing for sustainable product
development, life cycle management,
CAD/CAE/CAM, integrated approach and
scientific applications.
