Objective 1:
The children will develop fine motor skills by placing the pictures of their favorite food to eat at thanksgiving.

 Pictures of Food(150)
V. Directions / Steps / Process [Parts A, B C]:

A. Motivation
I will enter circle time and talk about thanksgiving.
I will read a book about thanksgiving.
I will ask the children what are their favorite foods to eat at Thanksgiving table.
B. Steps
1. When each child have told me their favorite food to eat at Thanksgiving; I will explain to the children
that we will be making our own plate of foods that we will like to eat at Thanksgiving.
2. I will call each child go sit at the table by calling the color that the child is sitting on.
a. For example, “If you are sitting on a blue circle please go to a table.”
3. I will pass out the paper plates to each child.
4. I will have the children paint their paper plates.
5. I will lay across the table pictures of different foods they can eat at thanksgiving.
6. I will go around assisting the students with painting and gluing the pictures on the plate.
7. I will go to every table and start up conversation with each child while doing this activity.
8. I will ask each child where they go for Thanksgiving Day.
9. I will also ask each child what food they cut out (To make sure they know the name of the food they
cut out.).
10. When the children are done with their activity, I will ask each child one food they put on their
“Thanksgiving plate.”
11. I will ask who else have the same food on their plate.
12. If some children have different foods on their plate, I will explain to the children that not everybody
likes the same types and that some do like the same food and that it is okay to like different types
of foods.
C. Conclusion and Transition

Conclusion
I will ask the children what they like best about thanksgiving. I will tell the children my favorite part about
thanksgiving.
Transition
I will ask the each child what color they painted their plate and ask them to clean their area up and to go wash
their hands so they can get ready for the next activity.
