Known Issues
The following sections list current known issues related to TimePictra v10.1, v10.2, v10.3, v10.4,
v10.5, and v10.6.
Cautions
n In the absence of “hostname” in /etc/hosts, TimePictra SNMP NBI fails to register the SNMP
objects with TimePictra server.
Workaround:
- Use command line utilities to start database, stop database, and create database.
- Use boot-up scripts to start, stop and check TimePictra Web server status.
n Fail to upload Topology Background images and Firmware Files (MySQL specific) – If the
database is MySQL, TimePictra will fail to upload topology background images which are
larger than 1MB in size.
n The Alarm/Event Filter window does not display properly on Google Chrome browser.
n TimePictra failed to receive SNMP Southbound traps and PTP 1588 management message
in case if RHEL is using IPv6 stack. By default IPv6 stack will be enabled on RHEL 7.x.
Workaround: Do not check the "Configure SSL" option during installer's "Database
Connectivity Details" phase.
n Catalina.out reporting "BROKEN PIPE" exceptions which was causing after migrating
Tomcat
Workaround: No action required as this error does not cause any problem. After checking
the tomcat source code found that one of the library is using logger message enabled
which printing the messages to catalina.out
Workaround: From Client browser before accessing primary server, access secondary
and accept the secondary server certificate. Accessing secondary server will redirect the
page to use primary server. Once this procedure is used the switchover issue will be
resolved.
Workaround:Do not check the "Configure SSL" option during installer's "Database
Connectivity Details" phase.
n TeMIP Alarm Forwarder - TimePictra does keep track of TeMIP messages forwarded to
multiple TeMIP server.
Workaround:None.
n Display loading time increases, based on the number of NEs and PTP clients. The left tree
may experience refresh delays for larger node counts due to the increase in data.
Workaround: Disable the display of PTP Clients which is available in user preference
window.
n 55400 NE Status details page – NE Status Details page (path: Fault -> NE Status – Status
Details) is blank and not displayed for certain 55400 configurations.
Workaround: for the RTRV-NETYPE-ALL subtab, the same information can be viewed
under the Inventory tab.
n SSU 2000 NTP client configuration – For legacy SSU2000 Communication Card, TimePictra
does not support NTP client provisioning and Broadcast mode provisioning .
Workaround: None.
n 66662: Timestamp from TimePictra will include an extra “.0” at the end of the time stamp. This
is due to third party tools used in the software. Although this has no impact on functionality,
time stamps will not look as expected.
n 67214: The TimePictra display may look differently between Web browsers, Internet
Explorer, Chrome or Firefox, based on the web browser implementations of HTML
standards.
n 67219: TimePictra does not allow users to view or configure 1PPS and 10M outputs for
TimeProvider 5000 v2.0. This is a device-related issue.
n 67437: Trapping user names consisting of only special characters results in failure.
Workaround: Trap user names must only use standard characters A-Z (upper or lower-
case) and numerical 0-9.
n Some graphical elements in the User Interface display as text fields on Firefox and Internet
Explorer web browsers.
n The Configuration Logical panel does not work properly on Internet Explorer 9 and lower
versions.
Workaround: Use Chrome or Firefox Web browser when performing configuration tasks.
n Changing the user permissions, like Domain, Resource Group, Module Permissions,
Configuration Policy Group, etc. does not reflect immediately on the logged-in user session.
Note: When prompted for "Authentication details" during backup operation, enter root and
its password
n TimePictra installation does not check for required software. The Web server will fail to start in
the absence of required software.
Workaround: Before starting the TimePictra Web server, make sure all required software
is installed on the server.
n TimePictra Web server will not start in absence of Oracle or MySQL boot-up scripts.
Third-party applications, tools, or scripts may make it difficult for the Microsemi support labs to
effectively reproduce customer issues.
Hardware Requirement
The current version of TimePictra software requires a 64-bit PC server with the following
capability.
Database Requirements
n Oracle 11g/12c standard edition with suggested latest patch
n MySQL 5.1.6x, 5.1.7x, 5.5.x, 5.6.x or Maria DB 5.x/10.x
n Iptable packages
n xterm and xauth packages
n Cron package (cronie)
Note: MSCC recommend to keep the Redhat OS up to date with the latest patches where
maintaining the security and minimizes vulnerabilities is a priority for the customer. The end
user of the system is responsible for the supplying and installing of these patches.
