Narrative Report

Slaughtering Operation Batch 114

Slaughtering Operation Batch 114 of MMS-DTCC Baguio branch started on November

20, 2017 with one week lecture held at 3rd floor of CAP Building, Baguio City. Our instructors

during that time were Mr. Marcelino and Mr. Rence Imper. They discussed to us the basics of

slaughtering, together with the equipment’s of a butcher; the proper way of slaughtering a cattle

and a swine; and also the laws applied in the Philippines protecting the welfare of the animals.

After our lecture week, we were preparing for our hands on training. We received our PPE last

November 26 that came from MMS Las Pinas; the following day we went to Gizmundo Abattoir

together with our Training Instructor Ms. Emjay Dulnuan. We went to our training center every

night at nine in the evening from Monday to Saturday for a month and ended at half past three

in the morning or sometimes at two in the morning. we met the employees of the slaughter

house. They were very accommodating. They even helped and taught us if we committed

mistakes. They even shared some techniques that might help us during our assessment period.

Then Mr. Rence Imper became our instructor after Ms. Emjay Dulnuan. We were with him until

the day of our Assessment period. We were instructed to go to Urdaneta Abattoir last January

25 and be assessed there. But one of the instructor of Urdaneta told us that only half of the

group will be assessed and I was one of those unluckily chosen to come back again tomorrow

evening for the assessment. We passed the assessment. We couldn’t be able to accomplish it

without the help of the MMS-DTCC Baguio branch staff who helped us and answered all our

queries in times when we are in doubt and most of all to our instructors who unselfishly

dedicated their time and knowledge in teaching us. So in behalf of Batch 114 Slaughtering

Operation, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you. More power and God
