MINIMUM STANDARDS
- shall be labelled and listed
- markings shall be done in the factory not in the field

* Used of copper tubings
a. Shall not be carrying chemical and acid wastes
b. Copper tube for water shall have a weight of not less than
type "L"
c. Coloured stripes for marking shall be at least 6.4mm widht
**Types
"K" green
"L" blue
"M" red
"DWV" yellow

*Lead
a. For Safe Pans = not less than 19.56 kg/m3 and 1.6 mm thick
b. For Flashings or Vent terminals = not less than 14.63 kg/m3 and
1.2 mm thick
c. Lead bends and traps shall not be less than 3.2mm in wall thickness

* Ferrules and Bushings


a.Caulking ferrule shall not be of red cast brass, Bronze or copper
b. Soldering nipples and bushings shall not be of brass, copper
or heavy cast red brass

* Closet rings (Closet Flanges)


a. Shall be 178 mm diameter and have a 38 mm wide flange
b. Caulked on closet rings shall not be less than 6.4 mm thick and
not less than 51 mm in depth
c. Minimum of 4 bolts per water closet

*Clean out fittings


a. Plug should have a raised square head when installed along travel
ways
b. It should be gas and water tight

* Threaded Pipe and fittings


1. Screwed Fittings - ABS or PVC threads shall be tapped
2. Drainage fittings - should allow 2% slope
* Backwater Valve
* shall remain sufficiently open during low periods of flows

* Valves and Fittings


a. Gate valve in drainage shall be on full way type
Size Materials
102 mm or larger Cast iron bodies
less than 102 mm Cast brass or bronze bodies

* Zinc Alloy Componets


* shall be approved to the standards and listings
