Traffic calming Measures need to be introduced in the influence area of flyover like

 Defined entry exit points from Vending zones

 Railing/ Barricades around vending zone to stop spillover of vending activities on
carriage way
 Zebra crossing to for to and fro movement from Vending zone below flyover
 Additional Street Lighting to minimize pedestrian/ vehicular conflict
 Traffic police post is proposed as additional measure
 Speed bumps, Road Humps, Speed Tables, and Cushions at strategic locations to slow
down vehicular speed.
 Rumble Strips and Other Surface Treatments (like Changes in pavement color and
texture)
 Road humps, speed tables and cushions need to be highlighted with clear markings to
alert approaching drivers
 Disabled and old age friendly features to be provided
 Temporary loading unloading space for vendors below flyover
 Parking provisions for vendors and visitors below flyover or in adjacent area.
Diagonal Parking is advisable which can add up to 40% more parking space than
parallel parking
Shortens the “peering distance” for people crossing the street
 Signage at appropriate locations
 Informative Signage
 Reflective signage at approach roads and junctions
 Reflective and Artificially illuminated signage in and around vending zones and
flyover o Boarding and alighting area for visitors within walkable distance from
flyover vending zone
 Auto stops within walkable distance from flyover vending zone
 Future provision (integration possibility) for bus stops once public transport is in
place
 Parking) within vending zone or walking distance
 Storage facility for Vendors (lockable) within vending zone
 Public convenience (toilet) within vending zone or walking distance
 Drinking Water Facility within vending zone or walking distance
 Mix of small and large waste bins at strategic locations
 Effective drainage infrastructure (in influence zone) o Uninterrupted electricity
provisions

Additional activities which can coexist with Vending activity below flyover, other
than mentioned above -

o Recreational Area
o Parking for emergency and service vehicles

o Parking for tow away vehicles (4 wheelers & bikes/ scooters)

o Parking for School buses

o Commercial/ advertisement display rights can be given to private companies for revenue
generation or in lieu of vending zone and landscape management
