If you were a TV or radio announcer, what would you say or do to promote 4-H, tak-
ing into consideration all of the events and activities you have been involved in over
the last year? Here’s a check list of just a few things you may have been involved in to help you
answer that question.
There are many more things that can be added to this list to make your TV or radio promotion
really exciting and real!
All of your involvement helped you to meet new people, gave you an opportunity to gain independ-
ence and learn to make good decisions, gave you an opportunity to master something new and most
of all you were able to help others. So be sure to tell others about your 4-H experiences!

HeatWave is looking for new members!
Whether you sing or dance or you would like to learn, HeatWave is looking for you.
HeatWave is Rock County’s 4-H show choir
and it is almost time to sign up for the 2011 season.
Do you like to entertain? Do you enjoy applause? Are you looking for leadership opportunities? Do you want to
learn about staging a show or how to choreograph? Are you interested in making new friends? These opportuni-
ties and more are available in HeatWave.
HeatWave does not hold auditions. The group is open to anyone enrolled in the Rock County 4-H program who is
at least 13 years old or older as of January 2010. Members need to have a willingness to learn; need to be enthu-
siastic and cooperative; and must be responsible and committed to hard work.
Current HeatWave members have until October 15 to register their intention to be a part of HeatWave to
insure membership for the coming year. This must be done in writing! Current members may still register after
that date but they will be accepted in the same manner as new members at that time.
New member registrations MUST BE MAILED ON OR AFTER October 15 and ON OR BEFORE December 1.
Registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. The order will be determined by postmark.
The size of the group is limited to 30 members. If the quota is reached, those registering last will be placed on a
waiting list. All who register will be contacted in mid-December to confirm membership.
Rehearsals will begin in early January and will probably be held every Saturday through March, with one or two
exceptions, and in April and May as needed. Attendance and other requirements, costume costs, etc. will be dis-
cussed at the first meeting. For more information call Janet Kassel at 876-6311 or visit our website at
