2000 • Global Bike foundation: Producing racing and off-road bikes


• Selling to the B2B market: distributors and retailers

• Global Bike introduces the IoT bike


2015 • The selling numbers of the IoT bike are low
• Global Bike is facing difficulties

Today • Global Bike decides to introduce a city bike rental service for IoT bikes
• Global Bike Sharing (GBS) as a subsidiary of Global Bike is founded

Curriculum Goal
THE STORY - OVERVIEW

The curriculum addresses the challenges of the digital transformation, based on


the example of Global Bike. It offers various modules for each aspect of the
company that is affected by the digital transformation. The curriculum is
competency based and each module addresses specific competences for the
digital transformation. It aims at preparing the students to be best qualified as
the workforce of tomorrow.

This curriculum delivers the overall learning outcomes:

• Remember the main terminology and aspects of the digital transformation


• Understand the basic technological aspects of the digital transformation
• Apply methods and tools to extract information for the digital transformation
• Analyse the impact of the digital transformation on the economical, sociological,
organizational and technical aspects
• Evaluate the digital transformation scenarios and aspects with regards to their
value for a company
• Create own solutions for different aspects in the context of the digital
transformation

Overview
HOW TO USE THE CURRICULUM

Curriculum Overview:

 The curriculum provides materials from different topics regarding the


digital transformation.
 It covers 19 modules containing: theory slides, videos, hands-on
exercises, case studies etc.
 The curriculum is entirely built on the Global Bike story, by providing
Global Bike related examples for the presented theory
 The curriculum provides a collection of teaching documents from
various relevant topics of the digital transformation. It is not meant to be
conducted entirely in one semester. Each lecturer can combine these
documents to create her/his own course.
