I am applying for the position of Certified Patient Transporter at Harris Methodist

Hospital Fort Worth. I believe that I have the determination and passion
necessary to contribute to this great hospital. After undergoing brain surgery and
outpatient rehab through the Texas Health hospital system several years ago, I
witnessed firsthand the passionate care and dedication that every employee
brings to the work of caring for patients. From diligent nurses to industrious,
custodial staff, I was impressed by the level of patient-centric care displayed.

I will be completing my Associate of Arts at Tarrant County College this May in

anticipation of applying to nursing programs in the local area. I have previous
college experience at Lamar University where I completed the majority of my
core classes before mental health issues forced me to withdraw from school for
several years. After overcoming emotional and health traumas, I returned to
college with the intent to go into nursing. I have since completed every class I
have taken with determination and diligence.

I have volunteered through New Hope Hospice, formerly Grace Hospice, since
October 2016 as the first step to give back to the healthcare community. I have
been trained in proper protocol for infection prevention, patient privacy, and
safety standards. I have shown my dedication to patient care particularly
through the Eleventh Hour program where I have been called upon to sit with
terminal patients and provide companionship in their final hours of life.
