Aim: to talk about their past habits as opposed to their present ones using
the construction “used to/didn’t use to;
Objectives:
By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
1. to build up sentences using the correct form of “used to/didn’t use to”;
2. to read the text fluently in order to answer some questions;
3. to watch a video presentation and to solve the tasks its tasks;
4. to work in pairs and complete the exercises in the worksheet;
5. to write down things they used to do in the past and they don’t do
now;

Teacher tries to create a pleasant and
comfortable atmosphere by means of routine
conversation:
T: Hello children! How are you today?
T: Who is on duty today?
T: Who is absent?
b) Checking homework
T: What was your homework for today?
S: We had ex G/77 – to write a letter similar to
Tim’s.
Students read the homework

10-13’ Presentation Frontal activity

a)Lead - in
The teacher asks the students to watch some
pictures on the video projector and to guess
who those people were.
Students try to guess.
The teacher asks the students if they look
different now and how they looked in the past.
T asks students to tell things about themselves
from the past giving some examples:
“I used to have long brown hair and blue eyes
but now I have short hair and brown eyes.
I used to eat vegetables but now I don’t eat
vegetables anymore.”
The teacher announces the topic and the title of
the lesson
T: Write the date and the title of the lesson on
the blackboard
S: Write the date and the title in their
notebooks
b) Reading Activity:
Teacher asks students to open the book on page T-Ss
78 and to read the texts. Then, the teacher asks
the students some questions from the texts:
Who is the person in the first picture?
When was this photo taken?
How old is she?
Who is the person in the second picture?
How old was she?
When was the photo taken?
Who is the person in the third picture?
How old was he?
When was the photo taken?
Who is the person in the fourth picture?
When was this photo taken?
How old is he?
10’ Grammar Presentation: Frontal activity
The teacher asks the students to pay attention
to the presentation from the video projector.
Then, the teacher selects the most important
information and writes it on the blackboard:
Affirmative: Sb+ used to+V1(base form)
e.g. I used to be a caterpillar.
Negative: Sb+ didn’t use to/never used to+
V1(base form)
e.g. I didn’t use to be so beautiful.
Questions: Did+ Sb+use to +V1(base form)
e.g. Did the gardener use to try to catch you?
The students write the information in their
notebooks.
5-6’ Grammar practice Pair Work
The students solve the exercise from the
practice 1 and 2 given in the presentation.
Then, they work in pairs and solve ex. B/78.
They have to find things about Carolina and
Peter dividing them into now and then
