Casting

Casting is the process of forming solid or hollow shapes by pouring molten polymer into
a metal mold. The polymer flows into the mold and undergoes solidification or curing. It is
employed in making special shapes, sheets, films, tubes, and rods from both thermoplastic and
thermosetting materials.
In this technology, the polymer or prepolymer is heated to a fluid, poured into a mold, cured at
a specified temperature, and removed from the molds
Slush Casting
Slush Casting method done at atmospheric pressure. Pour vinyl plastisol, neoprene, or other
liquid polymer into a heated mold. A skin forms against the mold wall. Pour off the excess liquid
for reuse, heat to fuse gelled skin, then remove the finished product

Solvent Casting film

Solvent-casting is a century-old film-making process. The polymer solution, is spread out, using
classical solvent-cast film deposition methods, onto a continuous roll of release media, like
plastic impregnated paper. The coated media is passed through a drying apparatus, such as an
oven or a convection chamber to drive off the solvents..
