Reflection
On 27 of February 2018, I taught a student who are 4 to 5 years old and they are in KG1-A. the
lesson that I taught them was about letter \k\ in the classroom, I taught them in the classroom
because I used technology during the lesson. I engaged the students by show videos in smart
board and data show. During the activities time I saw how the students doing and are they
understand the concept. I provide for the students four activities two complex worksheet first
one was about students recognize the letter\k\ finding the letter between the other letters, the
second worksheet maze how the king finds his key. The third activity was design your house
key. The fourth activity was simple flashcards with cloth clips. At the end of the lesson I saw
how I achieved my goal through asking the students to give me a full sentence about words
starts with letter \k\.

The one aspect that I did very well in this lesson is the opening. I started the lesson by showing
the students video about days of the week and the letter \k\ song. it was the first lesson I taught
the and the students were responding to me. At the begging I was little nerves of how I will
greet the children and how I will introduce the sound. But the students were engaged with days
of the week song and letter \k\ song. Then the students were excited at the flashcards words
activity, which each group have two cards has a picture and word start with sound \k\. the
students have to discuss with their friends and give me a full sentence about the words. At the
end I explain to the children what we will do as activities, they exited and stopped talking while
listen to bell is ring.

During the activity time I saw how the students are responded. However before start the activity
time the students were out of control, until they listen to my counting 1,2 and 3. Then I gave
them instruction about the activates and I explained for them what they should do. I saw how
the students were responded and actively while some students asked me for help. It was the
first time that I taught the students that was keeping the students engaged. I encourage the
students by rewarded them give them a sticker.

During the lesson I saw how I’m achieving my goal, while the students doing the activities and
some of them asking for help. Even the students were engaged while I explain the concept how
they want to answer right to get a sticker. At the end of the lesson I asked the students to give
me a full sentence that was grateful students in KG1 have ability to know how to make a full
sentence even if they don’t know how to write it.

In the future I would try to have more complex activities and give the students chance to read
the sentence by words not just pronounce the sentence may point to the words. And I will try
to prepare several strategies to keep the students in control.
