Pollution has been a major issue that has been gradually getting worse over the

years, and with the high usage and reliability on motor vehicles everything that people

know as a green environment will probably disappear soon. With over a billion cars being

used worldwide, cars are responsible for over half of the carbon monoxide that resides in

the air. Due to the worsening conditions of air pollution in the world, it has caused the rise

of new, eco-friendly vehicles. Electric cars, are a relatively new way of driving while

avoiding the emissions of carbon monoxide. So, what can we ask to ourselves about the

consequences of electric cars?

● Which are the advantages of creating and/or investing in new types of electric cars

to change how people invest in their lives without damaging the environment?

● What type of people (depending of economic position, age, jobs, economic growth,

or necessity) are electric cars designed for, so they can evaluate if it is worth it to

buy an electric car or not?

How electric cars can change the society and environment where people live and growth?

Today's vehicles are made to consume hundreds and hundreds of gallons of

gasoline in weeks. In fact, a data made in 2016 comments that, about 143.37 billion

gallons were consumed just in the United States in the one year alone, that was the largest

amount of annual motor gasoline consumption on record (eia, 2016), all of this gasoline

consumption is affecting our everyday environment. If we continue using this type of

combustion engine we'll end up in a world full of pollution, with the possibility of

extinction of species in our environment. Engineers have thought and created new ways to

avoid these problems. As Ecotricity says, “We currently consume consume of over 11

billion tonnes of oil in fossil fuels everyday” and, “Crude oil reserves are vanishing at the

rate of four billion tonnes a year, if we continue to this rate, our oil deposits will last until

2052.” (Ecotricity, 2016). But, who is going to buy a car that you have to find a gas station

that has the specific plug to your electric car needs for every eight hours of travel? It is

rare to see someone using an electric car, due to the fact that gas fueled cars are easier to

use and easier to obtain. Gas fueled cars are cheaper than electric cars, but in the long run

it will not only be worth the buy, it will help save for our wallet but our environment as

well. With a creation like this one, we can revolutionize the car industry because billions

of gas cars are sold annually. Imagine replacing most gas fueled automobiles to brand new

electric cars. The air pollution would decrease dramatically over the years, this is one

advantage electrical cars bring to our environment. Another advantage brought by

electrical cars is a increases in the economy, this will increase job rate in most countries.

For example, a data made in 2016 by TheBigRecord, “In the past five years, the

automotive industry has grown about eighteen billion dollars in just that time.”

(TheBigRecord, 2016). With the information gathered we can infer that with replacement

of gas cars not in just one country, but the majority of the world economic growth would

start to double. A survey was made in 2013, states that in that in 2013 alone, there was

over a billion cars owned worldwide (Greencarreports, 2014). With the prices that cars go

for today, a huge margin of profit can easily be obtained and with that amount of money,

technological advancements can be accomplished. With the opportunity for more

technological advancements for electrical cars, future engineers can find new and

improved ways to make electrical cars better and more eco-friendly.

Secondly, most people may not afford this in a near future, so engineers have

challenged themselves to create these brand new electric cars for an affordable price and

durability to maximize the care of the environment. There are many environmental

benefits to using electric cars; most importantly it leaves less toxic emissions, allowing

fauna and flora to flourish. Obviously, Super fauna cannot regenerate back and due to the

increase of population over time; but with the preservation of national forests and parks,

more people would see the importance of plant life protection. With the preservation of

national forests, it will attract a huge number of people to come and see the forests, which

in return could cause the uprise of population stimulus. Population will be happier because

now there will be more jobs due to the increase of eco-friendly automotive production,

bringing lots of improvements like education and better paying jobs. All due to the effects

brought by electric cars to the environment. Also, it can increase jobs around the country

and will bring new types of careers to study in colleges. This will increase the job rate,

even though the old mechanics will have to adapt. In other words, electric cars will

revolutionize industries, jobs, happiness in cities and will take the environment back when

it was strong and stable.

What makes an electric car more eco-friendly than a conventional car?

Electrical cars produce far fewer amounts of greenhouse gases than conventional

cars do. Electrical cars run on a standard engine powered combined with battery power,

running on electricity power rather than having to rely on coal-burning power. With this

power substitution, electric cars can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emissions by

twenty-two percent. In addition to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, the amount

of smog-producing pollutants that are produced by conventional cars can also be reduced.

Smog emissions can be reduced from thirty-four to ninety-nine percent, according to

Sherry Boschert, author of “Plug-in Hybrids: The Cars that Will Recharge America”.

In addition to the environmental benefits, electric cars provide several benefits to

the user. Electric cars have easier maintenance compared to conventional cars. Electric

cars lack oil changes, spark plug replacements and other services that are required from a

normal internal combustion engine. They also have a regenerative braking system, which

returns power back to the battery. This also helps spares a lot of the pressure used on the

breaks, so brake pads, rotors, and callipers require less frequent maintenance. Another

benefit that appeals to some is that electric cars are more silent than conventional cars.

Although not a necessity, many drivers do like the option of having silent vehicle. A

silenced ride is considered a luxury to some and they love the option of having it. Another

huge benefit is the ability on saving money for gas. Since electric cars don't rely on

needing gas to run, you no longer need to worry about paying for gas. More and more

charging stations are being placed across the country, where you can charge your car free

of charge. Plus, electric car owners also have the luxury of charging their cars right at their

homes; they don't have to worry about having to leave their homes in order to charge their

cars.

Despite the environmental benefits that electric cars provide, they do happen to

have their own share of flaws. Electrics cars are much less durable on the road compared
ELECTRIC CARS SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT. 6

to gas fueled cars. Electric cars are go far less miles while on a full charge compared to a

full tank of gas. Electric cars get around eighty to hundred miles before having the need to

recharge; although this doesn't sound like a bad number, it's nothing compared to the 200+

miles conventional cars are now capable of doing. It also doesn't help that electric cars

take longer to charge an Electric car than what it takes to fill up a normal car with gas. It

takes hours to fully charge up an electric car, compared to the minutes it takes to fill up an

conventional car. Also, due to their elegant designs and more costly parts, electric cars are

more expensive than conventional cars. Although despite these disadvantages, the most

important reason of using an electric car being that you are saving the environment from a

catastrophic future. This is reasonable enough on why you should own an electric powered

vehicle. As a consequence for not listening to the warnings that experts have been saying

for years; there's a chance that mankind could end due to high rates of air pollution and the

ever increasing danger of global warming.

No matter how expensive an electric car can be in the end fossil fuels is a limited

resource and its price will increase over the time on how much there is in earth while

electricity can be obtained by various non-pollutant ways like solar panels and wind

turbines you can get that type of energy without giving any harm to the environment. Of

course there are many different ways you can get electricity without causing any single

sign of damage, but these are the most common ones and the ones that benefit us the most

because of it great quantity of electricity generators. As a result with these generators can

produce energy to charge your car with most eco-friendly way to transport yourself with a

car.

Changing to an electric car will allow you to contribute to helping our environment

by making one of the biggest sources of air pollution to decrease. According to NASA,

vehicle emissions makeup an estimated 58% air pollution with just Transportation that’s

just in California. (Air Pollution as a Climate Forcing: A Workshop, 2010). The problem

is that there is so many fossil fueled vehicles that everyone uses as a norm, and they don’t

bother to even look at an electric car, everyone is so used to using a normal car and that’s

why it is one of the biggest problem. Cars are used almost every day all over the world,

and all this pollution accumulates which makes everything worse the longer we take to

switch over electric cars. In addition, people don’t even care about the environment, so

they are also a huge part of the problem they don’t even believe they are hurting anything

when they turn on their car. Alerting them of the slow damaging process we are causing

should be more encouraged, so that they may eventually own an electric vehicle.

We know Electric Cars is what we need to decrease the amount of air pollution.

Electric Cars might be troublesome in the adapting scene, but in the end we are always

ready to adapt for these kind of situations. Getting your own Electric Car would count as

your participation for making a better future for our future generations and a healthy

environment for ourselves. Electric cars will revolutionize and will create more

opportunities for us. Not only would we be saving the environment, we will also be

creating new jobs and opportunities for people.

This is how the creation of electrical cars would revolutionize our future for the better of

our environment and economy. Bringing clean air to our world and saving natural

resources from becoming limited. As for the economy it saves people money and bring

more job opportunities to help create/invent these significant vehicles.
