Title: The Digestive Sytem Part II

Time Allotment: 1 Hour

b. emphasize the process of assimilation within the chemical process of digestion

Elicit (15 minutes) c. relate functions of the parts under chemical digestion
from mechanical digestion to state its
At the start of the lesson, the teacher willgeneral importance
review the parts under Mechanical Digestion:
Mouth ( Lips, Teeth, parotid gland, sublingual gland, submaxillary gland and tongue) and its
processes d. state health risks of not taking the three meals a day to
generate ideas
Engage(15 minutes) on how are these risks can be prevented and can be applied
The Teacher will assign a student to write the parts under Mechanical Digestion and its
processes as their lecture

Explore (5 minutes)
The Teacher will pose a question to the students on how are these food be digested inside
the stomach where it cannot be seen and be observed to get the curiosity and interest fueled
among students.

Explain (10 minutes)


The Teacher will emphasize the process of assimilation as the mode of circulation of food
nutrients( much smaller than food molecules) to the cell after it has been broken down by
essential enzymes and acids naturally occuring inside the body.

Elaborate (10 minutes)


Pose a question to the students about the some risks of not taking three(3) meals a day
through recitation and to organize thoughts and its relationship using a graphic organizer

Given a Seatwork: Write in 1 or more paragraph and generate their own idea about the great
importance of how the parts under Mechanical Digestion ( Mouth Lips, Teeth, parotid gland,
sublingual gland, submaxillary gland and tongue) helps Chemical digestion accomplished
its functions and successfully completed the process undergoing the digestive system.
