SWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)

While teaching a math lesson on the 20th of February 2018, I was observed by my teacher Mr.

Robin. My outcome for this lesson was to Order numbers 1 to 100 from lowest to highest and

highest to lowest. The lesson was for KG2C classroom, and we had the lesson in the classroom. I

was trying to work on developing my voice tone in the lesson, and I believe I achieved it from

my teacher’s feedback. The students were not behaving so much and that made me upset but

then I could manage the classroom.

In the beginning, the students were so involved, and they liked the lesson. We started with

counting 1 to 100 with doing exercise and counting, and the students enjoyed it. After that we

did a whole class activity which was the boat is sinking, students were actively engaged, and

they were enjoying at the beginning, but after that, they started misbehaving because they were

bored and the numbers were going higher. So we decided to put them back into the circle, and

we would let three students finish up counting each time.

I could relate to the student’s prior understanding because last week they had counting 1-100 so

we revised it at the beginning of the lesson. Students were actively engaged with the song and

exercise because they were moving their body instead of sitting down counting.
While doing the closing we asked the students whether they understood the lesson and could

count from the lowest to the highest and the highest to the lowest by using thumbs up and

thumbs down assessment technique and students responded positively, so that showed me that I

met the outcome and my goal which was my tone.

In the future, If I want to work with students as a whole classroom I will try to have a more quiet

activity that doesn’t involve them all moving or a short activity, so they won’t start misbehaving.

I would also work on developing classroom management to have better management of the

students.
