Things to Consider When Hiring Staff


Directions: There are many things about an early childhood program that should be taken into consideration
when hiring staff. Use your textbooks and available references to find more information about these five major
considerations. Take notes in and around the spaces provided.

-Smaller programs are simpler to operate


Size of the Program -Larger programs are more complicated
-Staff must be larger to provide care for larger
numbers of children
-Bookkeeper, secretary, and receptionist may be
combined in small programs

assistant teachers, teacher aides, and volunteers.
