Introduction week Kick-off, city walk
Evaluation and Reflection
We started the first week of school with the introduction week, on the
21st of September 2017, we were introduced to our mentees from the
first year of International Business Management. We met with them and
introduced ourselves to the mentees and they also introduced them
selves to us. We did the city walk and played the game organized by
Artevelde’s during which they asked some questions on how studies is
going to be like and some difficulties we faced. I think it was an
interesting activity meeting some new students who asked some
questions and advice on our thoughts about the program. the city walk
was really interesting because we got to socialize with the mentees.

Evaluation and Reflection
During the cultural event, since we were all present, we did our first
tutoring session with the mentees. During the tutoring session, the
mentees had the opportunity to ask all sort of questions relating to
school and the difficulties they face during studies. Some of the
questions asked include; What difficulties did you face studying Business
Economics?, can you advice on how to tackle market? how did you plan
for studies during the first year. We gave them answers and advice on
how to study and prepare for exams.

Second Tutor Session
Evaluation and Reflection
We organized the second tutor session on the 22nd of march 2018
in the mediatheek at the campus of Artevelde (kantienberg). Since it was
already the second semester, we decided to start the session by
discussing on the first semester results and difficulties during exams. We
gave the mentees some tips on how study for the retake and also how
to manage the second semester. They also asked for summaries of the
second year of which some of us gave. We end the session by talking on
the preparation of the second semester examinations.

Overpoort Bowlin. It was agreed because in the group everyone agreed
on it. For those who attended gave a positive feedback about the activity
and they enjoyed it. For the mentors present, they gave some more exam
tips to the mentees before separating. I couldn’t be present at this

Final Reflection
From the very first day we met with the mentees, before going for
the city work, we created a Facebook group which had both mentees and
mentors. Through this way we could easily communicate about
upcoming events and mentees could ask a quick question in the group
and will receive an answer from any available mentor.
I will start by talking on the difficulties we had meeting with the
mentees. Since we had different school schedules, most of the times
when we were free, they had classes. Also, we do not live in same cities
thus meeting at certain ours made it very difficult. Furthermore, the
numerous assignments and deadlines also made it difficult for us to
meet.
For the activities the mentees enjoyed the most were the outing
sessions, which are the bowling and city walk activities. Personally, I
think they enjoyed this activities the most because it was relaxing and
were moments we could enjoy ourselves without thinking a lot on school
activities. However, from the feedback we had from the second tutor
session, we noticed the mentees we very delighted about the tips we
gave because it helped them during exams.
The mentorship project is an interesting experience I had working
with first year students just there same way I did with second year
students during my first year. I hope with there same hope and
motivation we transmitted to them will be transmitted to their mentees.
