What the teacher does
Introducing the Sound:
The teacher plays a short video
about words that start with sound M.
Then showing the children
flashcards that has pictures that start
with sound M.
The teacher explains that we make
the M sound with our mouths closed
and asks the children to see if they
can make M sound.
Hearing the Sound in the initial
position:
The teacher says the sound M again
with showing the children the
flashcards that has words start with
sound M such as kite, king and
kangaroo
Introducing the Writing of the
Sound:
The teacher explains that she is going to
show the children how to draw a picture
of the M sound, first by drawing on the
air then the whiteboard.
The Structure of the Lesson
What the children do
The children will see and
listen the video and the
words pictures.
Try to see the sound of M
after the hearing the teacher.
The children will listen to the better to include musical
words that start with sound
M. Then try to say it.
Comments
The video and the flashcards
worked well. The children
start recognizing the words
and the sound of it.
For the next time it will be
instruments so, that the
children will have fun and
learn at the same time.
Getting the children to repeat
the directions for writing the
sound M and to draw it in the
air provided good preparation
for writing on the whiteboard.
She follows 3 handwriting
guidelines on the whiteboard and
says:
1. start on the dotted line
2. draw a short line down
3. line up
4. line down
as she draws the sound M

The teacher repeats this and asks the

children to copy her movements in
the air with their fingers then on the
whiteboard by using marker.
