INTRODUCTION
This PRODUCT LIST contains the data of pressure classes (NP), stiffness (S), dimensions and weights (w) for
the standard filament wound polyester and vinylester pipes and hand lay-up fittings in the range of Nominal
Diameter from ND 25 to ND 1200 produced by INIZIATIVE INDUSTRIALI.
Products for size ranging from ND 1300 to ND 3000 and for higher pressures are available upon request.
Standard products are based on isophtalic polyester and vinylester resin matrix, 0.8 - 1.2 mm thick internal
liner and 0.2-0.3 mm thick external coating. On special request or depending on the fluid, other types of resins
and liners can be supplied.
The listed dimensions are the minimum for installation, assembly and packaging purpose. The production
tolerances are applicable for all dimensions. Weights indicated are nominal values.
For dimensions of factory pre-fabricated pipeline sections (spools), please contact INIZIATIVE INDUSTRIALI.
The joining system methods are the followings :

1- B/2R (bell & spigot)

Bell and spigot joint consists of an integral socket end plus a machined spigot end with two SBR
elastomeric gaskets. On special request or depending on the fluid other types of rubber are supplied.
2- B/2RLJ (bell & spigot with locking key)
Bell and spigot with locking key joint consists of an integral socket end plus a machined spigot end with
two SBR elastomeric gaskets with a locking device. On special request or depending on the fluid other
types of rubber are supplied. Standard locking devices are made of Nylon 6. The joint is resistant to
axial force due to pressure.
3- B/L (bell / plain ends pipe with lips gasket)
Bell / plain ends pipe with lips gasket consists of an integral socket end and a plain end with a lips
elastomeric gasket.
4- B&S (butt & strap)
Butt and strap is a laminate joint resistant to axial force due to pressure. Plain-ended pipes and fittings
can be used.
5- F/F & F/L (fixed flange & loose flange)
Flanges are drilled in accordance with UNI, ANSI standards. On special request other standards can be
met. If an INIZIATIVE INDUSTRIALI flat-faced flange is connected to any raised-faced flange, the
annular void must be filled in order to prevent additional bending.
6- MC (mechanical coupling)
Mechanical couplers are available on various types, either axial resistant or non tensile resistant. Axial
resistant couplers can be used with plain-ended pipes.

Other joining systems are available on request basis.

The PRODUCT LIST also provides in appendix A the dimensions and weight of pipes and flanges approved by
FMRC for Underground Fire Service. The other approved products (elbows, Tees, reducers, end caps) have
the same dimensions of the standard products rated pressure 16 bars in size (ND) of 4” (100 mm) through 20”
(500 mm) included in the PRODUCT LIST. The FMRC approved products have rated pressure 16 bars in size
(ND) of 4” (100 mm) through 20” (500 mm) as appear in the Automatic sprinkler section of the FMRC Approval
guide” suitable for unrestrained use permitted by Butt & Strap joint and/or Bell & Spigot Lock joint with double
O-ring.
