I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standard
The learners demonstrate an understanding of concepts and principles in mail merge
and label generation.

B. Standard
The learners shall be able to create a document and perform the steps in mail merging
and label generation.

C. Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
 Identify the components in performing Mail Merge and Label Generation;
 Practice and become familiar with Mail Merge steps;
 Practice and perform Mail Merge.

IV. PROCEDURE

A. Lesson Proper
i. Introduction of topic: Ask students: From our pervious lesson, what is the word
processing software developed by Microsoft?
Follow up question: What is your experience using MS Word in the past?
ii. Discussion/Explanation (20 min.)
 What is Mail Merge?
Mail Merge is a way to create labels, envelopes and letters from a contact
list with little input or work from the computer.
 Why would you use Mail Merge?
a. To address letters/envelopes/labels… to individual people in a list
saved on your computer with a single process.
b. To save time.
 When would you use Mail Merge?
a. Fundraising Letters
b. Invitation Letters
c. Event Flyers
d. Workgroup Notifications

iii. Demonstrating the new lesson


 The students will follow the teachers’ demonstration on the steps in mail
merging through a projector screen.

iv. Practicing new skills


 Activity (30 min.):
1. Gather some personal information from your classmates
e.g., Name and Address. (minimum of 5)
2. Open the file “Sample Letter.docx” in your desktop.
3. From the gathered information, fill in the required data using
mail merge.

V. ASSESSMENT
i. Developing Mastery
 Performance-based task:
a. Create an invitation for a party at your house.
b. Invite at least 5 people.
c. Use Clip Art and Word Art to personalize your invitation.
