a.Listen to and talk about the pictures by asking and answering questions
Focus Word[s] Fish, squid, prawn, bubu, net, fishing rod, spear
a. Can you guess:
 Teacher gets the pupils to close their eyes
 Teacher plays a sound clip of sounds of waves in the ocean
 Teacher gets the pupils to guess where is the place --sea
 Then, teacher plays a sound clip of people buying and selling in the market
 Teacher gets the pupils to guess what is the activity - selling and buying
 Teacher relates the sounds with today’s lesson ->From the sea
b. What can you see:
 Teacher introduces new vocabulary to the pupils by showing pictures of ice boxes, bubu, cast, trawler, crab and
prawn

o Pupils role play talking about the picture by asking and answering questions.
o Pupils take turns to ask and answer questions
c. Listen and number:
 Pupils turn to AB page 43
 Teacher says the names of the objects, pupils listen and number the pictures
Teacher checks the answers with the pupils

a. Let us read:
 Teacher shows pictures of dolphin and whale
 Teacher gets the pupils to talk about the pictures
 Teacher gets the pupils to think of similarities and differences between these 2 sea animals that they know
 Teacher writes pupils ideas on the board in i-think map form
 Teacher gets the pupils to read the text (refer to AB page 46)
 Teacher divides the pupils into 2 groups
 Pupils read sentence by sentence in groups.
 EG: Group A reads the first sentence and group B reads the second sentence.

 Teacher asks a few questions orally to check understanding

 Teacher puts up sentence strips on the board
 Teacher gets the pupils to read the sentences aloud
 then, pupils identify whether the statements are true or false
