NOTE: Sulphur level in diesel fuel dictate oil change intervals. If the diesel fuel’s sulphur content is greater than 0.5% by weight, the
oil change intervals must be halved. On Deere Engines, fuel Sulphur content greater than 0.2% will result in Oil change interval
been halved

(A) - For machines equipped with SCR, the urea/water solution must meet the ISO22241 standard. Urea supplier
meeting this standard usually have “ AdBlue®” on the container decal. There are many suppliers who distribute
Urea which contains the AdBlue wording on the container decal, but does not contain the registered mark ® after
the AdBlue. In this case the AdBlue does not meet the ISO22241 standard.
(B) - Failure to use the above transmission oil will render warranty on the transmissions null-and-void.

Appendix A - FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Esters) / bio diesel as an alternative to diesel fuel – ADT’s
On B35C Mk II and B40C Mk II trucks, the leak-fuel lines must be replaced with FAME-resistant lines and connected to
the fuel feed.
Fuel
The fuel must comply with the standards set out in DIN EN 14214. Operation with lower-grade fuels may lead to
damage or malfunctions.
Either FAME or diesel fuel may be used. The varying mixtures of FAME fuel and normal diesel fuel produced in the
fuel tank as a result are harmless.
Running the engine on diesel fuel with a FAME additive content of up to 5% is also harmless. This fuel may also be
used in engines, which have not been approved for operation with FAME and does not affect the oil-change intervals
in any way.
Standard DIN EN 14214 stipulates the following cold-weather stability characteristics for FAME fuels (Europe).
If the fuel's cold-weather stability is inadequate or ambient temperatures are lower, a system of fuel preheating must be
used. The addition of flow improvers for diesel fuel does not alter the cold-weather stability of FAME fuels.
We reject any use of pure vegetable oils as an alternative to diesel fuel or FAME due to the negative
experiences of the past (engine damage resulting from coking, buildup of residue in the combustion
chambers and formation of oil sludge).
It is essential that the applicable oil change intervals are complied with.
Exceeding the intervals could result in engine damage.
SERVICE BULLETIN
Ref No.: 2010
Operation with FAME requires the intervals for replacement of the fuel filter to be shortened too. The fuel filter must
be replaced every time the engine oil is changed.
About 50 hours following conversion to FAME, the engine oil and engine oil filter should be replaced due to the risk
of residue being loosened by the FAME fuel's high cleansing effect and clogging up the engine.
In the case of the fuel filters, filter life may be reduced for a prolonged period due to old residue deposits being rinsed
out of the fuel system and into the filters. A special approved fuel pre-filter should be fitted to improve filter life.
Engines equipped with the special-equipment code MK 04 are already fitted with this fuel pre-filter with heated water
separator.
General notes:
FAME is a highly effective solvent and should therefore not be brought into contact with paintwork, for example.
Not all manufacturers of re-refined oils are able to process engine oils, which contain a certain proportion of ester
residue as a result of FAME operation. Please contact your oil reclamation dealer for further information.
Exhaust emissions are on a par with those produced by diesel fuel, while far less black smoke is produced.
Some people find the characteristic odor of the FAME exhaust gases rather unpleasant, particularly when the engine
is left idling for a long period of time.
NOTE: Bell Equipment and Daimler Chrysler will provide no warranty coverage whatsoever for damage resulting
from the use of inferior-grade FAME fuels or from non-compliance with our regulations for FAME operation. Nor
will we accept responsibility for irregularities or consequential damage caused by the same.
