ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First and foremost I thank to lord almighty for the grace, strength, and hope to carry out
and to complete the project report.

I am thankful to Dr A. A. MUHAMMED FAIZAL, Principal, Ilahia School of Science

and Technology, for providing all the necessary facilities for the successful completion of the
project work.

It is my privilege to express sincere thanks to Mr. AJITH GEORGE PULICKAL,

Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, ISSAT, for his valuable suggestion.

I am grateful to our coordinator Mr. TINTO MATHEW , Assistant Professor,

Department of Mechanical Engineering, for his valuable support and constant encouragement to
complete the project.

I wish to express my deep sense of gratitude to my guide Mr. HARIKRISHNAN V.K,

Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department, for the sustained guidance and useful
suggestions in completing the project work in time.

I owe a debt of gratitude to all the teaching and non-teaching staffs of Ilahia College,
especially to the staffs of Mechanical Engineering Department, who have directly or indirectly
helped me for the completion of my project work.

Last, but not the least I am grateful to all my friends and family, who gave me a lot of
help and support for the successful completion of the project.

ABSTRACT
Refrigeration is the process of removing heat from a substance under controlled
conditions.Refrigerator is reversed heat engine or a heat pump which pumps heat from a cold
body and delivers it to a hot body.

In any refrigeration system heat energy is lost to the surroundings and it goes as waste.
The work deals with the utilization of the out coming heat energy is to produce cold water in the
water cooler. There by we are utilizing the heat lost and also reducing the heat in the condenser
toget maximised cold water.

The system consist of both water cooler and air conditioner. Low cost refrigeration as
well as air conditioning is possible using this sytem. The circuit used in this work is same as that
of the availabe water cooler and air conditioner. This concept of utilizing the heat energy evolved
to the surrounding can be applied in any refrigeration systems.
