I have been following IDEA’s work since beginning my post graduate program in Risk and Emergency
Management, Italy 2015, and I was thrilled to see your announcement for the Staff Training and Development
Officer - Stockholm” position. I have been inspired by IDEA’s focus on participatory approaches to community
development focusing on reducing the risk and making community free from risk, poverty alleviation and
child wellbeing, and thus focused my own academic and professional efforts on the same purpose. My
background in program management, disaster risk reduction, community development, and as a certified
expert, is very well-matched to your requirements.

I have deliberately pursued the work that I love and at which I excel. For example, while working with
EUCENTRE in Italy, I acquired specialized skills in international designing and implementing program
management, environmental modelling and coordinating, providing the technical knowledge to international
stakeholders. As District Disaster Management Officer at Thane Collector Office in India, I was awarded
appreciation certificate by Hon. Chief Minister, Government of India for effectively working in Uttrakhand
Floods (2013); covering planning response, implementing projects etc. My skills in program management,
financial management, team management, leadership and goal oriented and using innovative technology for
hard-to-reach populations, both in Italy, Nepal and India, will certainly meet your needs for culturally-
sensitive programming for at-risk people. My international background and focused skills in programme
management, DRR will, I believe, fit well with UN’s culture.

designed & implemented DRR, community development programme in Italy India and Nepal for 8 years, I am
very familiar with planning, need assessment of community, leading projects, what are the possible problem
of volunteers, how to solve the problems without affecting the timeline of project and quality of deliverables,
financial: planning, budgeting and monitoring, coordinating with stakeholders, etc. I want to be part of a
