Should we read the bible daily?

This is beautiful story ‐ if inspired pls. forward. If not, keep it. Can't say when it might inspire you!
Story:

An old Farmer lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson... Each morning Grandpa
was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his BIBLE. His grandson wanted to be just like him
and tried to imitate him in every way he could. One day the grandson asked, "Grandpa! I try to read
the BIBLE just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close
the book. What good does reading the BIBLE do?"

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Take this coal basket
down to the river and bring me back a basket of water." The boy did as he was told, but all the
water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You'll have to
move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time
the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told
his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket
instead.

The old man said, "I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You're just not trying
hard enough," and he went out the door to watch the boy try again. At this point, the boy knew it
was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the
water would leak out before he got back to the house.

The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the
basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, “See Grandpa, it’s useless!" "So you think it is
useless?" The old man said, "Look at the basket." The boy looked at the basket and for the first time
realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was
now clean, inside and out.

"Son, that's what happens when you read the BIBLE. You might not understand or remember
everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is the work of Jesus in
our lives."

Greetings to you in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
My humble request to you brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ is to read this passage till the end and
be blessed!!!

FIVE STEPS FOR A MIRACLE WORKING PRAYER.

Mark 11:22‐23
22 Jesus said “Have Faith in God".
23 For verily I say unto you , That whosever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, Be thou
cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith
shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

STEP ONE:  NEUTRAL GEAR:
Make yourself completely calm in heart and wait upon the Lord. Tell him I don’t wish to make any
decisions for my own benefit; I only want your guidance.
At times the best action is too fast and pray. If you know you are really calmed down, go to next
step.

STEP TWO:  DIVINE DESIRE:
Ask the Lord to reveal his will through your desire.
"Delight yourself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart".‐ Psalms 37:4.
Through the Holy Spirit, God puts his desire in your heart and the will to do his will. Desires can
come from satan, from your own spirit or from the Holy spirit.
In your praying also have the patience to wait for God's desire to settle in. As you wait before the
Lord with an open heart to know his will, one desire will rise above the others followed by great
peace. Also as you wait patiently, your own desire or desire from satan weakens, but desire from
Holy Spirit becomes stronger.

STEP THREE: SCRIPTURAL SCREENING:
When the right desire from the Holy Spirit comes into clear and sharp focus then compare the
desire you have with what the Bible has to say to confirm it.
The Holy Spirit will never contradict God's written word.

STEP FOUR: BECKONING SIGNAL:
If God has truly spoken to your heart; he will certainly give you a signal from the external world.
E.g.: Elijah prayed seven times for rain and he received a signal from eastern sky ‐ a cloud‐
appeared.

STEP FIVE: DIVINE TIMING:
After you receive the sign then take the final step. Pray until you have a real peace, if after you pray,
you still feel restlessness in your spirit, and then the timing is not proper. That means there is still a
red light, so keep praying and waiting. When the red light is not there and you see the green light,
peace will come into your heart.
Then you should jump up and go. Go then with full speed with God's blessing and his spoken word.

MIRACLE AFTER MIRACLE WILL FOLLOW YOU.

Jesus Loves You!

Faith of a mustard seed………

Jesus said if we have faith of a mustard seed size we can move a mountain from its place and
command it to fall into the sea. Does this mean we should have faith as small as a mustard seed? I
remember of a story of two friends who were travelling to their village. To reach their village they
had to cross over a mountain. The friends thought of the words spoken by Jesus and decided to pray
that entire day, with faith, for the mountain to be moved. After the end of the prayer‐filled day, they
saw that the mountain was still standing in its place without moving an inch. Then one of them said,
“I knew in the very beginning that the mountain would not move. It would have been better for us
to cross over the mountain that to waste an entire day praying.” The other friend said, “May be in
the days of Jesus a mustard seed was as big as a mountain.” Friends, if we observe a mustard seed
we see that there is no hole or empty space inside the seed. It is complete. God wants our faith to be
complete and perfect without any doubt in it. Let us have a faith that pleases God so that we may
receive from Him whatever we ask.
Power of Providence

Once upon a time, following a shipwreck, one of the crew managed to hold on to a wooden remnant
of the ship and was washed ashore a desolate island. He stayed there for many months expecting a
rescue by some other ship. He built a tent and started a new way of life. Most of the time he reached
the beach and looked for signs of help from an approaching ship. He prayed fervently but his
prayers were not answered for a long period. One day, feeling much depressed and disgusted, he
stood at the beach, as usual, inspecting the horizon, expecting the appearance of a ship as an answer
to his prayers. Suddenly, to his horror, he found that his tent was on fire. He rushed to the scene but
was helpless. He cursed God and his fate, as his last possessions were lost in the fire. He returned to
the beach, ready to commit suicide in the ocean. As he entered the water, he could see the flag of a
distant ship. A boat was fast approaching him. The sailors arrived and rescued him. Back in the ship,
he asked the captain how they could learn about his plight. The captain said, “We saw the fire and
the smoke rising from that island. We sent the boat expecting some one there.”

It was only then that he realized that God’s ways are mysterious. He felt sorry for cursing God for
letting his only possessions catch fire. He realized that the fire was God’s signal to the sailors in a
distant ship. He learned to trust His lasting love.

“I alone know the plans I have for you plan to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring
about the future you hope for.” {Jeremiah 29:11}

No legs—But he is a great missionary…………

There was a little boy who once heard how many people in the world do not know the love of Jesus.
The boy had a great desire to become a missionary so that he can travel places sharing the love of
God. Unfortunately, one day he met with an accident and lost both his legs. He was laid on the
bedside of a window and was supplied with his daily needs. The boy grieved in his heart that he can
no longer go places to share the love of Jesus. He was so disappointed. Then one day an idea struck
him, everyday he made small chits with one liners in it that read messages like Jesus Loves You,
Jesus Heals You, Jesus Saves You etc. He threw these chits from the window on the travelers who
passed by the road. He did these for years but did not see any response. One day a stranger knocked
at the door. He asked if there is anybody on the window‐side throwing chits on the road. The
stranger was led to the boy. The stranger said, “I am a rich industrialist. Two years ago I was struck
by a strange disease which had no medicine in the medical world. I was then being taken in an
ambulance for an emergency surgery. The ambulance happened to stop by the signal that is beside
the window when a paper came flying and stuck to the glass window of the ambulance. It read,
“Jesus heals you”. The message renewed my spirit and encouraged me. Jesus healed me
miraculously and today I’m completely restored with good health. Thank you for sharing His love
with me” No matter in which state we are, we can still share the love of God with others and change
their lives...

God is in control……….

Recently I read of a heart‐rending event. A few scientists went to the snow‐capped North Pole for
research. One of them was caught among the ridges of the ice. Snow enveloped him but he found
one small slit to which he put his nose and breathed. Unfortunately, some poisonous gas emanated
from the stove which he carried and blocked the slit. He was choked and he began thinking of his
wife and children whom he had left far behind. There was no one to take care of them if he did not
survive. Then, for a moment he composed himself and looked at the blue sky and the stars above.
He realized that God was on His throne above all and was watching him. He knew God is in control
and would not forget him. This thought was a ray of hope to him in his solitude. At that North Pole
he was not alone but God was with him. God had concern for that scientist and in good time he sent
few men to look for him. They split the blocks and miraculously saved his life. Our Heavenly Father
who is on His throne is in full control of all that happens in our life. Nothing can touch us without
His will…

God’s mercy will never dry up …………..

Sometime back I heard of this interesting example. A small fish lived in a stream in which water was
exceedingly decreasing. The fish felt worried that as the water was steadily going down if the
stream would dry up altogether all of a sudden. So it complained to God out of anxiety. God asked
the fish whether it had enough water to swim. The fish answered that it had; God asked whether
there was enough water for the fish to drink. It said there was; Again God asked whether it had
enough water to breather and the fish answered that it had. Then God asked the fish, why it was so
anxious when it had everything it needed? Many of us are worried in this way. If you set your faith
on God, you can live in joy. His mercy will never dry up. It will be poured on us continuously. If you
have lost faith in prayer, resume praying. For God’s mercy endures forever!!

Hope in the midst of Storm……..

I remember of a true incident that took place during World War II when the German soldiers were
preparing to attack the city of Holland. There lived an old lady with her only son in Holland. This
lady had great faith in God from her very young age and looked unto God alone for everything she
needed. She also taught her son to trust in God. One day she heard on the radio that the German
soldiers are all set to attack the city that night and destroy it. The son, trembled with fear, asked her
mom how God would let such a thing happen to someone who trusted in Him. Their house was at
the entrance of the city and there was no way for them to escape the destruction. The mother, still
strong in her faith, knelt down on her knees and prayed. She assured her son that God will protect
them. That night, they heard great explosions outside the house. They also heard the soldiers
marching outside entering each home and destroying it. To their surprise, not one soldier entered
their house. They sat awake until dawn and by early morning German soldiers passed Holland,
when they went out to see why the soldiers surpassed their house without causing them any harm.
Ah!! What a great scene to see, their home was completely covered with snow throughout the night.
God had covered them with His protection throughout the night so that the soldiers could not see
their house… That’s how God works in a wonderful way, above our thoughts, to protect those who
love Him and those who trust in Him…

Fireman Billy……….

In Phoenix, AZ. a 26‐year‐old mother stared down at her son who was dying of terminal leukemia.
Although her heart was filled with sadness, she also had a strong feeling of determination. Like any
parent she wanted her son to grow up and fulfill all his dreams. Now that was no longer possible.
The leukemia would see to that. But she still wanted her son's dreams to come true. She took her
son's hand and asked, "Billy, did you ever think about what you wanted to be once you grew up?
Did you ever dream and wish what you would do with your life?" "Mommy, I always wanted to be a
fireman when I grew up." Mom smiled back and said, "Let's see if we can make your wish come
true." Later that day she went to her local fire department in Phoenix, Arizona, where she met
Fireman Bob, who had a heart as big as Phoenix. She explained her son's final wish and asked if it
might be possible to give her six‐year‐old son a ride around the block on a fire engine. Fireman Bob
said, "Look, we can do better than that. If you'll have your son ready at seven o'clock Wednesday
morning, we'll make him an honorary fireman for the whole day. He can come down to the fire
station, eat with us, go out all the fire calls, the whole nine yards! And if you'll give us his sizes, we'll
get a real fire uniform for him, with a real fire hat ‐ not a toy one ‐ with the emblem of the Phoenix
Fire Department on it, a yellow slicker like we wear and rubber boots. They're all manufactured
right here in Phoenix, so we can get them fast." Three days later Fireman Bob picked up Billy,
dressed him in his fire fighter's uniform and escorted him from his hospital bed to the waiting hook
and ladder truck. Billy got to sit on the back of the truck and help steer it back to the fire station.
There were three fire calls in Phoenix that day and Billy got to go out on all three calls. He rode in
the different fire engines, the paramedic's van, and even the fire chief's car. He was also videotaped
for the local news program. Having his dream come true, with all the love and attention that was
lavished upon him, so deeply touched Billy that he lived three months longer than any doctor
thought possible. One night all of his vital signs began to drop dramatically and the head nurse, who
believed in the hospice concept that no one should die alone, began to call the family members to
the hospital. Then she remembered the day Billy had spent as a fireman, so she called the Fire Chief
and asked if it would be possible to send a fireman in uniform to the hospital to be with Billy as he
made his transition. The chief replied, "We can do better than that. We'll be there in five minutes.
Will you please do me a favor? When you hear the sirens screaming and see the lights flashing, will
you announce over the P.A. system that there is not a fire? It's just the fire department coming to
see one of its finest members one more time. And will you open the window to his room?" About
five minutes later a hook and ladder truck arrived at the hospital and extended its ladder up to
Billy's third floor open window, sixteen firefighters climbed up the ladder into Billy's room. With
his mother's permission, they hugged him and held him and told him how much they loved him.
With his dying breath, Billy looked up at the fire chief and said, Chief, am I really a fireman now?
"Billy, you are, and the Head Chief, Jesus, is holding your hand," the chief said. With those words,
Billy smiled and said, "I know, He's been holding my hand all day, and the angels have been
singing." He closed his eyes one last time.

Alexander, the Great (356 – 323 BC) had a wonderful and gorgeous horse, Bucephalus, which
carried Alexander through several battles to create the mighty Greek empire. There is a legend
about the taming of Bucephalus as described by Plutarch, the Greek historian and biographer.

When Alexander was only twelve years old, Philoneicus, a Thessalian brought a wild horse before
King Philip II of Macedon, the father of Alexander. He wanted to sell it to King Philip. But the horse
was uncontrollable and unstable. No one could take it.

Alexander observed the peculiar behaviour of the horse and noted that it was behaving abnormally
as it was scared of its own shadow. Every time it saw its shadow, it got frightened and became
uncontrollable. Alexander volunteered to tame it. King Philip promised to buy the horse and gift it
to Alexander if he could ride it.

Alexander knew that it was shying away from its own shadow. So he stroked it gently and slowly
turned its face towards the sun and led it forward, so that its shadow was behind it and it could not
see its shadow. The horse became tame and Alexander easily mounted on it and rode happily. He
named it Bucephalus and used it in all his conquests till its death.

Our shadow becomes visible to us only when we turn away from the source of light. The shadow
grows in size as we move away from the light.

The shadow of our sins haunts us as we turn away from Jesus, the light of the world. As we move
away from Him, the shadow of sin appears to grow to alarming proportions and frighten us. But if
we turn towards our Saviour, our sins cannot scare us. He sacrificed His life and redeemed us from
sin and the influence of Satan.

The saintly sages of ancient India used to recite the Vedic prayer:

“ASATO MA SAD GAMAYA,
THAMASO MA JYOTHIR GAMAYA,
MRITHYOR MA AMRITHAM GAMAYA.”
{Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.3.28}.

This popular prayer of Hindus in the Sanskrit language can be translated as:

“Lead us from Untruth to Truth,
Lead us from Darkness to Light
Lead us from Death to Immortality.”
Jesus revealed to us, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” {John 14:6}.

“I am the light of the world,” He said. “Whoever follows me will have the light of life and will never
walk in darkness” {John 8:12}.

“I have come into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the
darkness” {John 12: 46}.

St. John teaches us, “God is light and there is no darkness at all in Him” {1 John 1: 5}. Isaiah foretold
His incarnation and mission, “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. They
lived in a land of shadows, but now light is shining on them” {Isaiah 9: 2}.

“The Word was the source of life, and this life brought light to mankind. The light shines in the
darkness, and the darkness has never put it out” {John 1:4,5}.

God said, “I, the Lord will be your eternal light; the light of my glory will shine on you” {Isaiah 60:
19}.

Let us turn towards Jesus, our eternal Light, who removes the shadow of sin from our lives.

My Brother’s Hands.

Back in the fifteenth century, in a tiny village near Nuremberg, lived a family with eighteen children.
Eighteen! In order merely to keep food on the table for this mob, the father and head of the
household, a goldsmith by profession, worked almost eighteen hours a day at his trade and any
other paying chore he could find in the neighborhood. Despite their seemingly hopeless condition,
two of Albrecht Durer's elder children had a dream. They both wanted to pursue their talent for art,
but they knew full well that their father would never be financially able to send either of them to
Nuremberg to study at the Academy. After many long discussions at night in their crowded bed, the
two boys finally worked out a pact. They would toss a coin. The loser would go down into the
nearby mines and, with his earnings, support his brother while he attended the academy. Then,
when that brother who won the toss completed his studies, in four years, he would support the
other brother at the academy, either with sales of his artwork or, if necessary, also by laboring in
the mines. They tossed a coin on a Sunday morning after church. Albrecht Durer won the toss and
went off to Nuremberg. Albert went down into the dangerous mines and, for the next four years,
financed his brother, whose work at the academy was almost an immediate sensation. Albrecht's
etchings, his woodcuts, and his oils were far better than those of most of his professors, and by the
time he graduated, he was beginning to earn considerable fees for his commissioned works. When
the young artist returned to his village, the Durer family held a festive dinner on their lawn to
celebrate Albrecht's triumphant homecoming. After a long and memorable meal, punctuated with
music and laughter, Albrecht rose from his honored position at the head of the table to drink a toast
to his beloved brother for the years of sacrifice that had enabled Albrecht to fulfill his ambition. His
closing words were, "And now, Albert, blessed brother of mine, now it is your turn. Now you can go
to Nuremberg to pursue your dream, and I will take care of you." All heads turned in eager
expectation to the far end of the table where Albert sat, tears streaming down his pale face, shaking
his lowered head from side to side while he sobbed and repeated, over and over, "No...no...no...no."
Finally, Albert rose and wiped the tears from his cheeks. He glanced down the long table at the faces
he loved, and then, holding his hands close to his right cheek, he said softly, "No, Brother. I cannot
go to Nuremberg. It is too late for me. Look, look what four years in the mines have done to my
hands! The bones in every finger have been smashed at least once, and lately I have been suffering
from arthritis so badly in my right hand that I cannot even hold a glass to return your toast, much
less make delicate lines on parchment or canvas with a pen or a brush. No, brother...for me it is too
late." More than 450 years have passed. By now, Albrecht Durer's hundreds of masterful portraits,
pen and silver‐point sketches, watercolors, charcoals, woodcuts, and copper engravings hang in
every great museum in the world, but the odds are great that you, like most people, are familiar
with only one of Albrecht Durer's works. More than merely being familiar with it, you very well may
have a reproduction hanging in your home or office. One day, to pay homage to Albert for all that he
had sacrificed, Albrecht Durer painstakingly drew his brother's abused hands with palms together
and thin fingers stretched skyward. He called his powerful drawing simply "Hands," but the entire
world almost immediately opened their hearts to his great masterpiece and renamed his tribute of
love "The Praying Hands." The next time you see a copy of that touching creation, take a second
look. Let it be your reminder, if you still need one, that no one, no one, ever makes it alone!

You Can Sleep When The Wind Blows.  (Refuge from the Storm)

Years ago a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast. He constantly advertised for hired
hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic. They dreaded the awful
storms that raged across the Atlantic, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops. As the farmer
interviewed applicants for the job, he received a steady stream of refusals.

Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer. "Are you a good farmhand?"
the farmer asked him. "Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man. Although
puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, hired him. The little man worked well
around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work.

Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a
lantern and rushed next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and
yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming! Tie things down before they blow away!" The little man rolled
over in bed and said firmly, "No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows." Enraged by the old
man's response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to
prepare for the storm. To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had been covered
with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were
barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow away.

The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, and he returned to bed to also sleep while
the wind blew. SPIRITUAL TRUTH: When you're prepared, you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep
when the wind blows through your life? The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he
had secured the farm against the storm.

We secure ourselves against the storms of life by grounding ourselves firmly in the power of God.

What God Can Do with Your Whole Life.

The boy hesitated as Andrew pushed him toward Jesus. "Sir, I have only a small lunch, five loaves
and two fish, but if this could help feed some of the people, you can have it." I'm sure Jesus smiled
and said, "Thank you. I think this is exactly what I need." The boy watched in awe as, with that small
lunch, Jesus fed more than 5,000, with lots of leftovers. "Wow," the boy responded. "If he can do that
with my lunch, I wonder what he could do with my whole life!" Each of us could wonder the same
thing: What if I give him my whole life?!? What if I give him my time? Would my day look different?
Would I get the priority things done? Would he multiply my time to enable me to accomplish more
of his work? What if I give him my talents? He gave them to me to begin with ‐ would he develop
them more fully, more beautifully. Would he fill me up and pour me out to touch every life I
encounter? Would he surprise me with the good works he created me to do? And what if I give him
my treasure? Do I really need so much of it? It's just loaned to me anyway. He tells me not to invest
in things that don't last, but to invest in heavenly endeavors, where the return on investment
multiplies many times ‐ for eternity. So what if I don't stop at time, talents and treasure? What if I
give him my hopes and my dreams? It happened to me. I had dreams: to be a good sportsman and
writer, musician, to reach so many people for Christ. I gave them to him ‐ and the vastness of the
bitterness has been staggering. I would have settled for so much less ‐ God had so much more. But
wait. What happens if I give him those negative things in my life‐‐my shame, my guilt, my fears?
Certainly he won't multiply those; maybe he will halve them. No, not halves, He erases them,
forgives them, buries them, and sets me free from them. So Lord, I give you everything I am and
have ‐ puny as it all is ‐ to do what you desire with all you made me to be. The song says, "I can only
imagine!" And that is true ‐ I can only imagine. But his Word promises that he will do far more with
what we give him ‐ even our whole lives ‐ than we can ask or even imagine!

Promise for the Day: “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart:
wait, I say, on the LORD.” Ps 27:14.

Being Promoted Beyond Your Ability.

Have you ever done a job so well that you were promoted outside your skill set? The exceptional
salesman gets promoted to manager and fails as a manager. The secretary gets promoted to office
manager but fails for lack of management skills. Understanding your Gods power will enable you to
know when you are moving in a direction away from that which God has intended for your life. I
have seen this principle happen a lot over the years. There is a paradox between these two concepts
that cannot be ignored. Sometimes God will place you in situations in which you have no natural
gifting. In these cases, God puts you there to experience His power in order to accomplish your
tasks. God sometimes moves us beyond our natural gifting and allows us operate in a place where
our natural gifts do not fit the job. Other times He is teaching us to acquire a new skill set for the
given situation.

Promise for the Day:  "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made
perfect in weakness'" (2Cor 12:9).

The True Hero of the Titanic Ship.

John Harper was born to a pair of solid Christian parents on May 29th, 1872. It was on the last
Sunday of March 1886, when he was thirteen years old that he received Jesus as the Lord of his life.
He never knew what it was to "sow his wild oats." He began to preach about four years later at the
ripe old age of 17 years old by going down to the streets of his village and pouring out his soul in
earnest entreaty for men to be reconciled to God. As John Harper's life unfolded, one thing was
apparent...he was consumed by the word of God. When asked by various ministers what his
doctrine consisted of, he was known to reply "The Word of God!" After five or six years of toiling on
street corners preaching the gospel and working in the mill during the day, Harper was taken in by
Rev. E. A. Carter of Baptist Pioneer Mission in London, England. This set Harper free to devote his
whole time of energy to the work so dear to his heart. Soon, John Harper started his own church in
September of 1896. (Now known as the Harper Memorial Church.) This church which John Harper
had started with just 25 members, had grown to over 500 members when he left 13 years later.
During this time he had got married, God did bless John Harper with a beautiful little girl named
Nana. Ironically, John Harper almost drowned several times during his life. When he was two and a
half years of age, he almost drowned when he fell into a well but was resuscitated by his mother. At
the age of Twenty‐six, he was swept out to sea by a reverse current and barely survived, and at
thirty‐two he faced death on a leaking ship in the Mediterranean. Perhaps, God used these
experiences to prepare this servant for what he faced next....... It was the night of April 14, 1912. The
RMS Titanic sailed swiftly on the bitterly cold ocean waters heading unknowingly into the pages of
history. On board this luxurious ocean liner were many rich and famous people. At the time of the
ship's launch, it was the world's largest man‐made moveable object. At 11:40 p.m. on that fateful
night, an iceberg scraped the ship's starboard side, showering the decks with ice and ripping open
six watertight compartments. The sea poured in. On board the ship that night was John Harper and
his much‐beloved six‐year‐old daughter Nana. According to documented reports, as soon as it was
apparent that the ship was going to sink, John Harper immediately took his daughter to a lifeboat. It
is reasonable to assume that this preacher could have easily gotten on board this boat to safety;
however, it never seems to have crossed his mind. He bent down and kissed his precious little girl;
looking into her eyes he told her that she would see him again someday. The flares going off in the
dark sky above reflected the tears on his face as he turned and headed towards the crowd of
desperate humanity on the sinking ocean liner. As the rear of the huge ship began to lurch upwards,
it was reported that Harper was seen making his way up the deck yelling "Women, children and
unsaved into the lifeboats!" It was only minutes later that the Titanic began to rumble deep within.
Most people thought it was an explosion; actually the gargantuan ship was literally breaking in half.
At this point, many people jumped off the decks and into the icy, dark waters below. John Harper
was one of these people. That night 1528 people went into the frigid waters. John Harper was seen
swimming frantically to people in the water leading them to Jesus before the hypothermia became
fatal. Mr. Harper swam up to one young Man who had climbed up on a piece of debris. Rev. Harper
asked him between breaths, "Are you saved?" The young man replied that he was not. Harper then
tried to lead him to Christ only to have the young man who was near shock, reply no. John Harper
then took off his life jacket and threw it to the man and said "Here then, you need this more than I
do..." and swam away to other people. A few minutes later Harper swam back to the young man and
succeeded in leading him to salvation. Of the 1528 people that went into the water that night, six
were rescued by the lifeboats. One of them was this young man on the debris. Four years later, at a
survivors meeting, this young man stood up and in tears recounted how that after John Harper had
led him to Christ. Mr. Harper had tried to swim back to help other people, yet because of the intense
cold, had grown too weak to swim. His last words before going under in the frigid waters were
"Believe on the Name of the Lord Jesus and you will be saved." Does Hollywood remember this
man? No. Oh well, no matter. This servant of God did what he had to do. While other people were
trying to buy their way onto the lifeboats and selfishly trying to save their own lives, John Harper
gave up his life so that others could be saved. "Greater love hath no man than this that he lay down
his life for his friends..." John Harper was truly the hero of the Titanic! Sources for this article: "The
Titanic's Last Hero" by Moody Press 1997, Scriptures are quoted from the King James Bible.

Parable of the Pencil.

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.

"There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world.

Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be."

One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God's
hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.

Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various
problems in life, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.
Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.
Four: The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.
And Five: On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the
situation, you must continue to do your duties.  Allow this parable on the pencil to encourage you to
know that you are a special person and only you can fulfill the purpose to which you were born to
accomplish.  Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and
cannot make a change.

Friend’s, don't look down.

Years ago, a young sailor went to sea for the first time. Soon after their departure, his ship
encountered a heavy storm and the sailor was commanded to go aloft and trim the sails. About
three quarters of the way up, the young sailor made the mistake of looking down. The roll of the
ship combined with the tossing of the waves made for a frightening experience. The young man
started to lose his balance. At that moment, an older sailor underneath him shouted, "Look up, son!
Look up!" The young sailor did as he said ‐‐ he looked up and regained his balance. Similarly, when
our focus is on the circumstances that we face, the waves of life, we can easily lose our balance and
our direction. But when we switch our focus on to the victory that the Lord has already provided ‐‐
it is then that we will be able to maintain our stability, finish the assignments we've been given and
get to the top!  Friend’s, are you feeling unstable today? Let's look up! There's no reason to look

Wonders of this modern age made you question what is true.?

Did Jesus use a modem at the Sermon on the Mount?  Did He ever try a broadcast fax to send His
message out?  Did the disciples carry beepers as they went about their route?  Did Jesus use a
modem At the Sermon on the Mount?  Did Paul use a Laptop With lots of RAM and ROM? Were his
letters posted on a BBS at Paul.Rome.Com? Did the man from Macedonia Send an E‐Mail saying
"Come?" Did Paul use a Laptop With lots of RAM and ROM? Did Moses use a Joystick at the Parting
of the Sea and a Satellite Guidance Tracking System to show him where to be? Did he write the law
on tablets or are they really on CD? Did Moses use a joystick at the parting of the Sea? Did Jesus
really die for us one day upon a tree? Have the wonders of this modern age made you question what
is true? How a single man in a simple time could offer life anew? How a sinless life, a cruel death
then a glorious life again could offer more to a desperate world than the inventions of man? If in
your life, the voice of God is sometimes hard to hear.  With other voices calling His doesn't touch
your ear. Then set aside your laptop and modem And all your fancy gear. And open your Bible, open
your heart and let your Father draw you near.

Promise for the Day:  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 ‐ New King James Version

No Excuses.

The book of Jonah is filled with valuable information and timeless lessons. Perhaps we could reflect
upon a few of these matters. Jonah fled toward Tar shish to escape God's plan. The prophet
mistakenly thought that ignoring a divine command would cause the Lord to withdraw it. Instead,
He repeatedly and dramatically intervened in Jonah's life until the man submitted. Jonah believed
he had good reason to be reluctant. The Ninevites were a bloodthirsty people determined to
conquer Israel. So walking across the city, crying out, "Nineveh will be overthrown" was a
frightening prospect. And, as the prophet later revealed, he worried that God would spare the city if
the people repented (4:2). Jonah wanted them destroyed! Therefore, his reasons for fleeing seemed
right in his own eyes, but God was not deterred. There is no adequate justification for rebellion.
People running from God's will often use this six‐word phrase: "I know what God says, but..." I can
tell you with absolute certainty that everything on the other side of "but" is a waste of time. The
Lord is not interested in excuses or selfish ambitions. He desires only obedience. He has reasons for
asking a believer to take a specific action, and His purposes are always good. Consider the amazing
benefit to Jonah and his countrymen if their enemy Nineveh became an ally that worshipped the
same God. The Lord doesn't change His plan to suit our purpose. Rather, He uses events, people,
and the prompting of the Holy Spirit to move us into center of His will. For your own benefit, go
willingly. You may not like the task God assigns, but if He wants it done, then it must be worthwhile.

Prayers Can't Be Answered Unless They Are Prayed.

Life without purpose is barren indeed
There can't be a harvest unless you plant seed
There can't be attainment unless there's a goal
And man's but a robot unless there's a soul

If we send no ships out, no ships will come in
And unless there's a contest, nobody wins
For games can't be won unless they are played
And prayers can't be answered unless they are prayed

So whatever is wrong with your life today?
You'll find a solution if you kneel down and pray
Not just for pleasure, enjoyment and health
Not just for honors and prestige and wealth
But pray for a purpose to make life worth giving
And pray for the joy of unselfish giving
For great is your gladness and rich your reward
When you make your life's purpose the choice of the Lord

Promise for the Day:  'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things

Are you tuned.

Back when the telegraph was the fastest method of long‐distance communication, a young man
applied for a job as a Morse code operator. Answering an ad in the newspaper, he went to the office
address that was listed. When he arrived, he entered a large, busy office filled with noise and
clatter, including the sound of the telegraph in the background. A sign on the receptionist's counter
instructed job applicants to fill out a form and wait until they were summoned to enter the inner
office. The young man filled out his form and sat down with the seven other applicants in the
waiting area. After a few minutes, the young man stood up, crossed the room to the door of the
inner office, and walked right in.  Naturally the other applicants perked up, wondering what was
going on. They muttered among themselves that they hadn't heard any summons yet. They
assumed that the young man who went into the office made a mistake and would be disqualified.
Within a few minutes, however, the employer escorted the young man out of the office and said to
the other applicants, "Gentlemen, thank you very much for coming, but the job has just been filled."
The other applicants began grumbling to each other, and one spoke up saying, "Wait a minute, I
don't understand. He was the last to come in, and we never even got a chance to be interviewed. Yet
he got the job. That's not fair!" The employer said, "I'm sorry, but all the time you've been sitting
here, the telegraph has been ticking out the following message in Morse code: 'If you understand
this message, then come right in. The job is yours.' None of you heard it or understood it. This young
man did. The job is his." We live in a world that is full of busyness and clatter, like that office. People
are distracted and unable to hear the still, small voice of God as He speaks in creation, in the
Scriptures, or in the life and work of Jesus Christ. Are you tuned in to God's voice? Do you hear Him
when He speaks to you? Are you listening? "This is my Son, whom I love . . . Listen to Him!"

Promise for the Day:  I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.
John 10:14 (NKJV)

Who wins the Baseball game.

The Lord stood by to observe a baseball game. The Lord's team was playing against Satan's team.
The Lord's team was at bat, the score was tied zero to zero, and it was the bottom of the ninth
inning with two outs. They continued to watch as a batter stepped up to the plate whose name was
Love. Love swung at the 1st pitch and hit a single, because Love never fails. The next batter was
named Faith, who also got a single because Faith works with Love. The next batter up was named
Godly Wisdom. Satan wound up and threw the first pitch. Godly Wisdom looked it over and let it
pass. Ball one. Three more pitches and Godly Wisdom walked, because Godly Wisdom never swings
at what Satan throws. The bases are loaded. The Lord then turns to Bob and told him He was now
going to bring in His star player. Up to bat stepped Grace. Bob said, "He sure doesn't look like
much!" Satan's whole team relaxed when they saw Grace. Thinking he had won the game, Satan
wound up and fired his first pitch. To the shock of everyone, Grace hit the ball harder than anyone
had ever seen. But Satan was not worried; his center fielder let very few get by. He went up for the
ball, but it went right through his glove, hit him on the head and sent him crashing to the ground.
Then, it continued over the fence for a home run! The Lord's team won. The Lord then asked Bob if
he knew why Love, Faith and Godly Wisdom could get on base but could not win the game. Bob
answered that he did not know why. The Lord explained, "If your love, faith and wisdom had won
the game you would think you had done it by yourself. Love, faith and wisdom will get you on base,
but only MY Grace can get you home. My Grace is the only thing Satan cannot steal."

Promise for the Day: But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect
in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

Our God is an awesome God

A young man who had been raised as an atheist was training to be an Olympic diver. The only
religious influence in his life came from his outspoken Christian friend. The young diver never
really paid much attention to his friend's sermons, but he heard them often. One night the diver
went to the indoor pool at the college he attended. The lights were all off, but as the pool had big
skylights and the moon was bright, there was plenty of light to practice by. The young man climbed
up to the highest diving board and as he turned his back to the pool on the edge of the board and
extended his arms out, he saw his shadow on the wall. The shadow of his body was in the shape of a
cross. Instead of diving, he knelt down and asked God to come into his life. As the young man stood,
a maintenance man walked in and turned the lights on. The pool had been drained for repairs.

Promise for the Day: For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God,
mighty and awesome… 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

A broken heart the price to pay.

How much can the human heart endure?
According to the world, only time can cure
A broken heart, a crushed spirit,
If only I had followed You I never would have been in it.

Instead of obeying the instructions You gave,
I became part of the world and nurtured my sinful ways.
I gave in to the enticement of sin,
Knowing full‐well that I alone could never win.

Now I deal with emotional pain,
Because of a sinful worldly game.
I'm hurt and confused! I don't know what to do,
All because I went my way and turned my back on You.

My heart is shattered, the pain is real,
Words can't express the way I feel.
My life was messed up for so many reasons,
The biggest one being spiritual treason.

I followed the world; I turned away,
A broken heart the price to pay.
I turned back to Your ways,
I took heed to Your words.

My pain and confusion You've taken away,
Now I serve You forever, as my one and only LORD.

Promise for the Day: The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue
each time. (NIV)

Don’t throw me on the scrap heap.

You perhaps recall the story of the blacksmith who gave his heart to God. Though conscientious in
his living, still he was not prospering materially. In fact, it seems that from the time of his life with
Christ, gave him more trouble, affliction and loss were sustained than ever before. Everything
seemed to be going wrong. One day a friend who was not a Christian stopped at the little gorge to
talk to him. Sympathizing with him in some of his trials, the friend said "It seems strange to me that
so many afflictions should pass over you just at the time when you have become an earnest
Christian. Of course, I don't want to weaken your faith in God or anything like that. But here you are,
God's help and guidance, and yet things seem to be getting steadily worse. I can't help wondering
why it is." The blacksmith did not answer immediately, and it was evident that he had thought the
same question before. But finally, he said "You see here the raw iron which I have to make into
horse's shoes. You know what I do with it? I take a piece and heat it in the fire until it is red, almost
white with the heat. Then I hammer it unmercifully to shape it as I know it should be shaped. Then I
plunge it into a pail of cold water to temper it. Then I heat it again and hammer it some more. And
this I do until it is finished." "But sometimes I find a piece of iron that won't stand up under this
treatment. The heat and the hammering and the cold water are too much for it. I don't know why it
fails in the process, but I know it will never make a good horse's shoe." He pointed to a heap of
scrap iron that was near the door of his shop. "When I get a piece that cannot take the shape and
temper, I throw it out on the scrap heap. It will never be good for anything." He went on, "I know
that God has been holding me in the fires of affliction and I have felt His hammer upon me. But I
don't mind, if only He can bring me to what I should be. And so, in all these hard things my prayer is
simply this: Try me in any way you wish, Lord; only don't throw me on the scrap heap."

Promise for the Day:  He shall pray to God, and He will delight in him, He shall see His face with
joy, For He restores to man His righteousness. Job 33:26 (NKJV

Sin…Why is it so fun. ?

A mother told her young son to go to bed and be sure to say his prayers and ask God to make him a
good boy. The boy's father, passing by the bedroom, overheard his son praying: "And make me a
good boy if you can; and if you can't, don't worry about it, 'cause I'm having fun the way I am." Does
this sound familiar? How many times do we think this? I do not think that anyone would admit it,
but we all know that sin is fun. Why is it fun? It should not be, but it is, because it is easy and it gives
instant gratification. That is not what God calls us to do though. It has been said that the things that
mean the most, which are most important and meaningful, are the things that we have to work for.
That is the way the Christian life is. First of all we have to work to be obedient. It is a constant battle
to do what is right, but the end result is much better than the instant gratification that we get the
other way. I heard a sermon one time about choices. We all have choices, but what we have to live
with is the consequences. What I do today will never change, but the consequence of that choice is
something that I will have to live with. My challenge to you is to think about what you do and make
sure that it is God's will that you do it. Does this situation look like it will be in God's plan? Will it
glorify him? That is a question that we should always be asking. John 8:34‐36: Jesus replied, “I tell
you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. A slave is not a permanent member of the family,
but a son is part of the family forever. So if the Son (Jesus) sets you free, you are truly free.

Prayer: Lord, deliver us from the blindness that deceives itself into thinking that sin is more fun.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for yours is the kingdom, the power and
the glory forever. Amen.

Lifestyle of righteous.

At salvation, we were set free from the power of sin and given the ability to think and live as Jesus
did. To make that potential a reality requires diligent effort on our part‐‐and surrender to the Holy
Spirit. After acknowledging a need for changed thinking, our first step is a commitment to pursue
godliness. Then we must measure our opinions and choices against God's Word, regularly asking
ourselves, Is my thinking, attitude, or behavior in line with the character of God and the truths of
Scripture? Also, we should take note of what is absorbing our attention. It is not healthy to fill our
minds with media reports, Web sites, or television programs that do not reflect God's values. The
apostle Paul gave us a measuring stick to use in deciding what is worthy of our attention: he said to
dwell on those things that are true, honorable, and worthy of praise (Phil. 4:8). Finally, we must
discipline our mind to reject ungodly thought patterns. Those who battle addictions can testify
about the mind's power to overcome good intentions. Unhealthy, repetitious desires cause us to feel
guilty, keep us from connecting with God, and make us a poor witness to others. Through the Holy
Spirit's power, we must learn to reject such thought patterns and embrace what God says.
Developing a lifestyle of righteous living begins with what we believe. As our minds become in tune
with Christ's, we will know what is right, good, and wise. Our lives will reflect His more closely, and
we will effectively live out our calling as His ambassadors (2 Cor. 5:20). How closely does your
thinking match the Lord's?

Promise for the Day: Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything
you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8‐
9 (New Living Translation)

Are you just tired to swim.

Do you at times feel helpless, Like a ship against the tide?
You feel the darkened waters, Constant crashing against the side?

You're in tumultuous waters, You have been tossed to and fro
Your thoughts are turning frantic, And the tides too strong to row

You're out in the great open, At the mercy of the sea
And suddenly you're feeling, All your inadequacies

Feeling so awfully helpless, Forces out of your control
For they are so much bigger, Without help, affect your soul

There is one force that's greater, That is stronger than the rest
It is our Lord Almighty, For solutions, He's the best

When you're feeling tossed about, And your future's looking bleak
May it be God you call for, And the first one that you seek

For He's the greatest calmer, Greatest peace you'll ever find
When our own understanding, Leads us in these waters blind

He is always there for us, We need to give control to Him
And let the Lord take over, When you're just too tired to swim

For He is your protector, Safely carry you ashore
So call on Him and trust, Him Let His love for you outpour
Promise for the Day: With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.
Psalm 18:29 (New King James Version)

God Meets Our Needs.

Our heavenly Father has promised to give us good gifts that will provide what we need. Let's look at
what is ours in Christ. One universal human need is for love. Through faith in Jesus, we've been
adopted as the heavenly Father's beloved children. But before this could take place, God's justice
had to be satisfied. You see, we were all born with a sin nature‐‐one bent away from the Lord.
Because of the Father's great love, He sent Jesus to take our place and experience judgment for our
sin. Out of deep compassion for us, Jesus willingly suffered and died so we might become part of
God's family and experience His rich affection for us (John 3:16). Through our relationship with
Him, this need for love is fully met. In fact, by means of salvation, our Father also provided for two
other basic needs‐‐companionship and security. When we accept God's offer of forgiveness, the
Holy Spirit comes to live within us, fulfilling Jesus' promise never to leave us (Heb. 13:5). This new
relationship is also permanent. What Jesus accomplished on the cross was fully accepted by God as
payment for our sin‐debt. Furthermore, Christ Himself promised that no one can ever snatch us out
of His hand (John 10:28). Therefore, we can rest in the knowledge that we are God's children
forever. That is true security. Our need for love, security, and companionship is satisfied in an
intimate relationship with the Lord. Have you trusted Christ so you could be permanently adopted
into God's family?

Promise for the Day: And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by
Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 (New King James Version)

Hand it over to the Lord.

The Price of Prayerlessness, The heavenly Father wants His children talking with Him. Jesus gave an
invitation to speak with God about anything. He said that if you have a need, ask; if you seek
answers, you will find them; if you want opportunities to open up, knock and He will respond (Matt.
7:7‐8). Even so, there are believers who do not bother communicating with the Lord, except in
emergencies. Forsaking prayer is costly to a person's well‐being. Those who will not make time for
God daily are on a slippery slope. They slide through weariness, discouragement, and doubt to land
in a testimony‐damaging situation. Today we will focus on the first phase‐‐weariness. Tomorrow
we can examine the rest of the descent. Certain situations take an emotional, physical, and spiritual
toll‐‐we call these burdens. Such low points can wear us out if we try to endure them alone. But God
does not intend for that weight to fall on our shoulders. In fact, the Bible commands that those loads
be cast upon Jesus Christ (Ps. 55:22). "Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden," cries David
in Psalm 68:19. Remember, He is doing all the work to straighten out your circumstances anyway.
So there's no point in both Him and you carrying that weight. Hauling all our worries and cares
around is wearying because we are not built for such loads. In God's design, His strength fills the
believer to capacity. Picture Jesus' shoulders just above your own‐‐with Him bearing your
problems. The burden does not disappear, but it feels blessedly lighter when you hand it over to the
Lord.

This is how we miss out something called "LIFE".

A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy
was the gem of their eyes. When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a
medicine bottle open. He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the
cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter. The boy saw the bottle and
playfully went to the bottle fascinated by its color and drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous
medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed the mother hurried him to the
hospital, where he died. The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband. When
the distraught father came to hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just
five words. The husband just said "I am with you Dear" The husband's totally unexpected reaction
is a proactive behavior. The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life. There is no point in
finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he had taken time to keep the bottle away, this would
not have happened. No one is to be blamed. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at
that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her. If
everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the
world. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". Take off all your envies, jealousies,
unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears. And you will find things are actually not as difficult as you
think. MORAL OF THE STORY: This story is really worth reading. ..... Sometimes we spend time in
asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship, in a job or with the people
we know. By this way we miss out something called L.I.F.E.

Share this invitation.

God’s Word says that those who trust in Jesus as their Savior have put off (taken off) the sinful
robes and are clothed in the robe of righteousness. This is another way of saying that our sins have
been washed away. Have you put on the royal robe of righteousness? Have you asked Jesus to save
you from your sin? One day there will be a royal wedding. At this wedding, Jesus the lamb will be
the groom. All those who believe in Jesus, members of God’s church will be the bride. Today, the
invitation is sent out. “The Spirit and the bride says, Come. And whoever desires, let him take of the
water of life freely”. Let us accept the royal invitation that God has prepared for His children.
Closing moments / Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, we thank You for the wonderful
opportunity You have given us to be a part of the royal Heavenly wedding. Lord, help each and
every one of us to accept the invitation, accepts your Son Jesus Christ in our hearts. Also, as a
faithful bride help us to faithfully share this invitation with others. Let us not harden our hearts but
come into your presence with humbleness. In the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ name we pray… Amen!!!

Promise for the Day: “And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come”… Whoever desires, let him take of
the water of life freely.”Revelation 22:17,

You're the Only Road.

Sometimes, I get lost upon a cloud of tears
And blinding fog, to my eye would pierce;
But I know I only have to pause and pray,
Because Lord, You're the Only Way.

When the waves of sorrow engulf my soul
And worry keeps me inside this gaunt hole;
I know that to You, everything I would lay
Because Lord, You're the Only Way.

Sometimes the knife of rage would stab my heart
And my head feels like falling apart.
I cannot find a way to mend them back but pray,
Because Lord, You're the Only Way.

You're the Only Road, I know; the Only Way,
Even if among a billion stars I'll go astray,
You will still be there, ever near,
I will always remember that, as I whisper an earnest prayer.

What is your vision.?

To have a vision for your life is to see where you could be, not where you are now. Great bible
heroes move people not by what they see today, but by what they see as the future. Your vision may
result in traveling down a different road than your friends. Many bible commentators have clearly
defined "vision" statements. These statements allow the believers and Christian leaders to keep up
the hope and what it wants to achieve. Do you know what you want, and where you are going? A
personal vision statement allows you to look forward to the future with positive expectations for
yourself. Before you write your vision statement, think of it as a high level statement about what
you want from life. It is a statement, one to two lines at the most. From your vision statement you
can then set your goals. Many people set goals but forget about the vision statement. Writing your
own vision statement gives you a high level statement and will help keep you focused as you then
think about setting your goals. As W. Clement Stone once said, "The world is full of dreamers, there
aren't enough who will move ahead and begin to take concrete steps to actualize their vision." You
can also think about your vision statement as what you are dreaming or wishing for. Joseph
Campbell's quote summarizes this thought well when he said, "A dream is your creative vision for
your life in the future. A Vision is what specifically you intend to make happen. Visions and goals
should be just out of your present reach but not out of sight.

Promise for the Day: Where there is no vision, the people perish….. Proverbs: 29:18 (NKJV)

Steps to Happiness.

Everybody Knows: You can't be all things to all people. You can't do all things at once. You can't do
all things equally well. You can't do all things better than everyone else. Your humanity is showing
just like everyone else's. So: You have to find out who you are, and be that. You have to decide what
comes first, and do that. You have to discover your strengths, and use them. You have to learn not to
compete with others, because no one else is in the contest of *being you*. Then: You will have
learned to accept your own uniqueness. You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations. You will have learned to give yourself the
respect that is due. And you'll be a most vital mortal. Dare To Believe: That you are a wonderful,
unique person created by God almighty. That you are a once‐in‐all‐history event. That it's more
than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are. That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to
cherish. And we'll be able to stay one up on what used to get us. May God bless you and keep you
safe…

Promise for the Day: But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But
the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting
life.” John 4:14 (KJV)

Strategies for Getting Promoted.

Paul desired a career in the building industry. Early in his career, he was working with a large
ministry to help direct several of their construction projects. As the projects were completed, Paul
was asked to stay on for future projects. To keep him busy he was given a number of jobs ‐ one of
which was cleaning toilets. He recalls getting down on his knees each day and complaining to the
Lord, "Lord, I'm a college graduate!" Discouraged, Paul told the Lord, "I will not leave here until You
promote me. Please give me contentment with my circumstance." Paul felt totally forgotten by God.
A few months later, Paul received a phone call from a man in the Midwest who owned five
successful businesses who wanted to interview Paul for a job. This came as a total surprise to Paul.
As he drove to the interview, he told the Lord, "I only want your will in my life, nothing else. I am
content to remain obscure for the rest of my life if I have You. You must override my lack of
experience for me to get this job." The owner of the company asked Paul a surprising question: "If I
asked you to clean a toilet, what would you do?" Paul sat there, stunned. He wanted to burst out
laughing. Paul assured him that he would simply pick up a sponge and start cleaning. Amazingly,
Paul was hired even though other candidates were more qualified. After several months of success
Paul asked his boss why he hired him. His boss replied, "Paul, I still have a large stack of
applications from people who wanted this job. Do you remember the first question I asked you in
the interview? I asked each one the same question. You were the only one who said he would clean
the toilet. Paul, I am a wealthy man, but I grew up dirt poor. I clean my own toilets at home. I can't
have people running my businesses who are too proud to clean a toilet." Sometimes God places us
in situations to see if we will be faithful in those before He is willing to promote us to greater things.

Promise for the Day: Because God gave him power… He promoted whomever he wanted to
promote, and he demoted whomever he wanted to demote. (Dan 5:19).  (GOD'S WORD ®
Translation)

True way to be victorious.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond
measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be
brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were
born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." Even the
weakest saint can experience the power through the Son of God, when he is willing to "let go." But
any effort to "hang on" to the least bit of our own power will only diminish the life of Jesus in us. We
have to keep letting go, and slowly but surely, the great full life of God will invade us, penetrating
every part. Then Jesus will have complete & effective dominion in us, and people will take notice
that we have been with Him. God wants you to submit your heart, mind, soul and life to Him, so He
can fill you with His glory (Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness) and finally Victory.

Promise for the Day: Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as
your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2 (NKJV)

The Road of Life.

At first, I saw God as my observer, my judge, keeping track of the things I did wrong; so as to know
whether I merited heaven or hell when I die. He was there sort of like a picture of a president. I
recognized His picture when I saw it, but I really didn't know Him. Later on when I met Christ, it
seemed as though life was like a bike ride, on a tandem bike, and I noticed that Christ was in the
back helping me pedal. I don't recall when he suggested we change places, but life has not been the
same since. When I had control, it was rather boring, and predictable . . . It was the shortest distance
between two points. But when He took the lead, He knew the exciting paths to take, up mountains,
and through rocky places at breakneck speeds ‐‐ it was all I could do to just hang on! At times it
seemed like madness. He said: "Pedal!" And by faith I did, although I worried and was anxious.
"Where are you taking me?" He laughed, but no answer, and I started to learn to trust. I forgot my
boring life and entered into the adventure. When I'd say, "I'm scared," He'd lean back and touch my
hand. He took me to people that had gifts that I needed. Gifts of healing, acceptance, love, and joy, So
many priceless gifts to take. Then we were off again. He said, "Give the gifts away ‐‐ they're extra
baggage now ‐‐ there'll be more gifts to come." So I did, I gave them to people we met, and found
that in giving I also received, and my burden was lighter. I didn't trust him at first to be in control of
my life. I thought He'd wreck it ‐‐ but I discovered he knows how to handle even the roughest roads
in my life. Now I'm learning to be quiet and pedal in the strangest places. I'm beginning to enjoy the
view, the challenge of the ride, as well as the cool breeze on my face with my delightful constant
companion ‐‐ Jesus Christ. When it seems I just can't take anymore, I keep my eyes and faith on Him.
He looks at me, with a big smile, and says: ". . . Keep on Pedaling. God says in Isaiah 41:10 "Don't be
afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you. I will help
you. I will uphold you with my victorious hand."

Eagles in a Storm.

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle
will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so
that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is
soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It
rises on the winds that bring the storm. When the storms of life come upon us ‐ and all of us will
experience them ‐ we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The
storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God's power to lift us above them. God enables us
to ride the winds of the storm. That brings sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our
lives. We can soar above the storm. Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down; it is
how we handle them. Friends even Bible speaks the same thing in Isaiah 40:31, But those who hope
in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not
grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. God bless you.

Generation follows generation – yet it lives. Nations rise and fall – yet it lives. Kings, dictators, rulers
come and go – yet it lives. Torn, condemned, burned – yet it lives. Hated, despised, cursed – yet it
lives. Doubted, suspected, and criticized – yet it lives. Damned by atheists – yet it lives. Scoffed at by

lives – as salvation for the sinner. Yet it lives – as grace for the believer. To know it is to love it. To
love it is to accept it. To accept it means life eternal.

Promise for the Day: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. John 1:1 (NKJV)

God's power.

"My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a
demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on
God's power" (1 Corinthians 2:3‐5). In the work world, we are trained to press through obstacles,
no matter the cost. However, perseverance that is not directed by the Holy Spirit is only sweat and
toil. We must learn to walk the fine line between these two concepts. On this subject of relying on
our human strength, Watchman Nee wrote: I believe many people are so rich and strong that they
give no ground for God to work. I frequently recall the words, "helpless and hopeless." I must tell
God, "all that I have is yours, I myself have nothing. Apart from you I am truly helpless and
hopeless." We need to have such a dependent attitude toward God that it is as if we cannot inhale or
exhale without Him. In this way we shall see that our power as well as our holiness all comes from
Him. Oh how God delights in seeing us coming hopeless and helpless to Him. A brother once asked
me, "What is the condition for the working of the Spirit?" To which I replied that . . . the Holy Spirit
must first bring us to a place where we can do nothing by ourselves. Of course, God gives us our
natural skills and He will use them, although it can be hard at times to tell whether it is God working
through us or if it is our natural skill alone making things happen. We need to try to distinguish the
difference even as we resist over‐analyzing (which can result in paralysis by analysis). The apostle
Paul understood that it was not his ability to deliver eloquent sermons that changed people. It was
the power of God working through him. If God's power comes through our work, that brings glory
to the Father.

David’s Lord and Gideon’s Friend.

By whom was David taught to aim the deadly blow, when he Goliath fought, and laid the Gittite low?
Nor sword nor spear the stripling took, But chose a pebble from the brook, it was Israel’s God and
King who sent him to the fight; Who gave him strength to fling, And skill to aim aright. Ye feeble
saints, your strength endures, because young David’s God is yours. Who ordered Gideon forth, to
storm th’invaders’ camp with arms of little worth, a pitcher and a lamp? The trumpets made His
coming known and the entire host was overthrown. Oh! I have seen the day, When with a single
word, God helping me to say, “My trust is in the Lord,” My soul hath quelled a thousand foes,
Fearless of all that could oppose. But unbelief, self will, Self righteousness, and pride, how often do
they steal my weapon from my side! Yet David’s Lord, and Gideon’s Friend, Will help His servant to
the end. Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
for you are with me; your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You may be walking through your
valley of shadow. Sometimes it may seem like the enemy surrounds you everywhere, but remember
that Lord Will never let you be by yourself, He will always be with you. Don't be afraid. Pray to God,
to give you strength and wisdom to guide you to the light from your shadow. Be strong; be brave
for, God is with you.

Hear what the Lord has done for me.

What various hindrances we meet in coming to a mercy seat; yet who that knows the worth of
prayer, but wish to be often there. Prayer makes the darkened cloud withdraw, prayer climbs the
ladder Jacob saw; Gives exercise to faith and love, brings every blessing from above. Restraining
prayer, we cease to fight; Prayer makes the Christian’s armor bright; and Satan trembles, when he
sees the weakest saint upon his knees. While Moses stood with arms spread wide, Success was
found on Israel’s side; but when through weariness they failed, that moment Amalek prevailed.
Have you no words? Ah, think again, Words flow apace when you complain; and fill your fellow
creature’s ear, with the sad tale of all your care. Were half the breath thus vainly spent, To Heav’n in
supplication sent; you’re cheerful song would oftener be, “Hear what the Lord has done for me.”

Promise for the Day: Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Psalm 103:2 (NKJV)

The Call of the Barnyard.

Flocks of wild ducks were flying in formation, heading south for the winter. They formed a beautiful
V in the sky, and were admired by everyone who saw them from below. One day, Wally, one of the
wild ducks in the formation, spotted something on the ground that caught his eye. It was a barnyard
with a flock of tame ducks that lived on the farm. They were waddling around on the ground,
quacking merrily and eating corn that was thrown on the ground for them every day. Wally liked
what he saw. "It sure would be nice to have some of that corn," he thought to himself. "And all this
flying is very tiring. I'd like to just waddle around for a while." So after thinking it over a while,
Wally left the formation of wild ducks, made a sharp dive to the left, and headed for the barnyard.
He landed among the tame ducks, and began to waddle around and quack merrily. He also started
eating corn. The formation of wild ducks continued their journey south, but Wally didn't care. "I'll
rejoin them when they come back north in a few months," he said to himself. Several months went
by and sure enough, Wally looked up and spotted the flock of wild ducks in formation, heading
north. They looked beautiful up there. And Wally was tired of the barnyard. It was muddy and
everywhere he waddled, nothing but duck doo. "It's time to leave," said Wally. So Wally flapped his
wings furiously and tried to get airborne. But he had gained some weight from all his corn‐eating,
and he hadn't exercised his wings much either. He finally got off the ground, but he was flying too
low and slammed into the side of the barn. He fell to the ground with a thud and said to himself,
"Oh, well, I'll just wait until they fly south in a few months. Then I'll rejoin them and become a wild
duck again." But when the flock flew overhead once more, wally again tried to lift himself out of the
barnyard. He simply didn't have the strength. Every winter and every spring, he saw his wild duck
friends flying overhead, and they would call out to him. But his attempts to leave were all in vain.
Eventually Wally no longer paid any attention to the wild ducks flying overhead. He hardly even
noticed them. He had, after all, become a barnyard duck. Sometimes we get tired of being wild
ducks‐followers of Jesus Christ. It's not always easy to be obedient to God and to discipline
ourselves to hang in there for the long haul. When we are feeling that way, that's when Satan tempts
us to "fall out of formation" and to join the barnyard ducks ‐ the world. But look what happened to
Wally. He thought he would just "check it out" for awhile and then leave when he wanted to. But he
couldn't do it. Sin is like that. Sin is a trap, and it has a way of changing us into people we don't even
want to become. Eventually we lose touch with which we really are‐‐the sons and daughters of the
Most High. We become barnyard ducks.

Promise for the Day: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed
away; behold all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

When I Said.

When I said to the Lord "I am so short of where you want me to be."
He gently answered "That's okay. That's all the farther you and I can walk together."

When I said to the Lord "I don't know who I am."
He gently answered "That's okay. I know who you are."

When I said to the Lord "I am so tired of fighting."
He gently answered "That's okay. Satan is down for the count."

When I said to the Lord "My actions aren't reflecting my heart."
He gently answered "That's okay. Mine did."

When I said to the Lord "My mind is corrupted."
He gently answered "That's okay. Use mine for awhile."

When I said to the Lord "I don't know how to love."
He gently answered "That's okay. I will give you free lessons"

Giving when it Counts.

Many years ago, little girl named Liz was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance
of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5‐year old brother, who had miraculously
survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness. The
doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the little boy if he would be willing to
give his blood to his sister. The doctor saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep
breath and saying, "Yes, I'll do it if it will save her."As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next
to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheeks. Then his face grew
pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start
to die right away?" Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was
going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save her. You see, after all, understanding
and attitude are everything. The attitude of giving one's own life that someone else may live
forever. Jesus died that we might live. The death of Jesus is the greatest example of love known to
humanity—God became flesh. The Cross of Jesus is upon the lips of every Christian. What does the
death of Jesus mean to you? Do you reject His death for your salvation? Do you crucify the Son of
God afresh by your rejection of Him in your daily walk? Have you allowed the death of Jesus to mold
your everyday actions toward God and toward others? Do you accept God's analysis of the plight of
humanity—"dead in your transgressions and sins” Just Say All to JESUS I surrender..........

Promise for the Day: But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still
sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 (NKJV)

THE BEGGAR & THE TRUE BREAD.

A beggar came and sat before me. "I want bread," he said. "How wise you are," I assured him. "Bread
is what you need. And you have come to the right bakery." So I pulled my cookbook down from my
shelf and began to tell him all I knew about bread. I spoke of flour and wheat, of grain and barley.
My knowledge impressed even me as I cited the measurements and recipe. When I looked up, I was
surprised to see he wasn't smiling. "I just want bread," he said. "How wise you are." I applauded his
choice. "Follow me, and I'll show you our bakery." Down the hallowed halls I guided him, pausing to
point out the rooms where the dough is prepared and the ovens where the bread is baked. "No one
has such facilities. We have bread for every need. But here is the best part," I proclaimed as I
pushed open two swinging doors. "This is our room of inspiration." I knew he was moved as we
stepped into the auditorium full of stained‐glass windows. The beggar didn't speak. I understood
his silence. With my arm around his shoulder, I whispered, "It overwhelms me as well." I then
leaped to the podium and struck my favorite pose behind the lectern. "People come from miles to
hear me speak. Once a week, my workers gather, and I read to them the recipe from the cookbook
of life." By now the beggar had taken a seat on the front row. I knew what he wanted. "Would you
like to hear me?" "No," he said, "but I would like some bread." "How wise you are," I replied. And I
led him to the front door of the bakery. "What I have to say next is very important," I told him as we
stood outside. "Up and down this street you will find many bakeries. But take heed; they don’t serve
the true bread. I know of one who adds two spoons of salt rather than one. I know of another whose
oven is three degrees too hot. They may call it bread," I warned, "but it's not according to the book."
The beggar turned and began walking away. "Don't you want bread?" I asked him. He stopped,
looked back at me, and shrugged, "I guess I lost my appetite." I shook my head and returned to my
office. "What a shame," I said to myself. "The world just isn't hungry for true bread anymore."
Similarly no one wants to receive heavenly bread. Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly I tell you, it was
not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread
from heaven. For the bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the
world. Then they said to him, "Sir, give us this bread all the time." Jesus said to them, "I am the
bread of life. The one who comes to me will never become hungry, and the one who believes in me
will never become thirsty. John 6:32‐35

Be the best of whatever you are.

If you can't be the pine at the top of the hill, be a shrub in the valley below.
The best little scrub in the valley below. Be a bush if you can't be a tree.
If you can't be a bush is a bit of the grass. And some highway happier make
If you can't be a Muskie, then just be a bass. But be the liveiest bass in the Lake!
We can't all be captains; we've got to be crew. There's something for all of us here
There's big work to do and lesser to do and the task we must do is the near
If you can't be a highway then just is a trail. If you can't be the sun, be a star
It isn't by size that you win or you fail. Be the best of whatever you are.

Promise for the Day: In all your ways acknowledge Him (God), And He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:6 (NKJV)

The 57 Cents That Made History.

Friends this is a true story, this story made me to cry and increased my burden to take the love of
Jesus to the ends. A little girl sobbing stood near a small church. She was sobbing because she was
been turned away from the church as the church was too small to accommodate many. "I can't go to
Sunday School," she sobbed to the pastor as he walked by. Seeing her shabby, unkempt appearance,
the pastor guessed the reason and, taking her by the hand, took her inside and found a place for her
in the Sunday school class. The child was so touched that she went to bed that night thinking of the
children who have no place to worship Jesus. Some two years later, this child lay dead in one of the
poor apartment building and the parents called for the kind‐hearted pastor, who had befriended
their daughter, to handle the final arrangements. As her poor little body was being moved, a worn
and crumpled purse was found from some trash dump. Inside was found 57 cents and a note
scribble in childish handwriting which read, "This is to help build the little church bigger so more
children can go to Sunday school." For two years she had saved for this offering of love. When the
pastor tearfully read that note, he knew instantly what he would do. Carrying this note and the
cracked, red pocketbook the pulpit, he told the story of her unselfish love and devotion. He
challenged his deacons to get busy and raise enough money for the larger building. But the story
does not end there! A newspaper learned of the story and published it. It was read by a realtor who
offered them a parcel of land worth many thousands. When told that the church could not pay so
much, he offered it for a 57 cent payment. Church members made large subscriptions. Checks came
from everywhere. Within five years the little girl's gift had increased to $250,000.00 ‐ a huge sum
for that time (near the turn of the century). Her unselfish love had paid large dividends; when you
are in the city of Philadelphia‐ PA.  Look up Temple Baptist Church, with a seating capacity of 3,300,
and Temple University, where hundreds of students are trained. Have a look, too, at the Good
Samaritan Hospital and at a Sunday school building which houses hundreds of Sunday scholars, so
that no child in the area will ever need to be left outside at Sunday school time. In one of the rooms
of this building may be seen the picture of the sweet face of the little girl whose 57 cents, so
sacrificially saved, made such remarkable history. Alongside of it is a portrait of her kind Pastor, Dr.
Russell H. Conwell, author of the book, "Acres of Diamonds." This is a true story, which goes to show
WHAT GOD CAN DO WITH 57 CENTS.

Promise for the Day: So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work
enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. 1
Corinthians 15:58 (NLT)

Bill Paid In Full with Glass of Milk.

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found
he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next
house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal
he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He
drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?" "You don't owe me anything," she
replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness." He said..... "Then I thank you
from my heart." As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in
God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit. Years later that young woman
became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they
called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation.
When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he
rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to
see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his
best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case. After a long struggle, the
battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He
looked at it, and then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to
open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and
something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words..... "Paid in full with one
glass of milk" (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed:
"Thank You, God that your love has spread abroad through human hearts and hands."

Promise for the Day: Jesus Said, if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of My
followers, you will surely be rewarded.”Matthew 10:42 (New King James Version)

Perfect Pot & Poor Cracked Pot.

A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on each end of a pole which he carried across
his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect and always delivered
a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the master's house, the
cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering
only one and a half pots full of water in his master's house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of
its accomplishments, perfect to the end for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was
ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it
had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water
bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you." "Why?"
asked the bearer. "What are you ashamed of?" "I have been able, for these past two years, to deliver
only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your
master's house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value
from your efforts," the pot said. The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and in his
compassion he said, "As we return to the master's house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers
along the path." Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming
the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path, and this cheered it some. But at the end of the
trail, it still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and so again it apologized to the bearer
for its failure. The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side
of your path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw,
and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we
walk back from the stream, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these
beautiful flowers to decorate my master's table. Without you being just the way you are, he would
not have this beauty to grace his house." Each of us has our own unique flaws. We are all cracked
pots. But if we will allow it, the Lord will use our flaws to grace His Father's table. In God's great
economy, nothing goes to waste. So as we seek ways to minister together, and as God calls you to
the tasks He has appointed for you, don't be afraid of your flaws. Acknowledge them, and allow Him
to take advantage of them, and you, too, can be the cause of beauty in His pathway. Out boldly, know
that in our weakness we find His strength, and that "In Him every one of God's promises is a Yes".

Promise for the Day: But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and you our potter; and
all we are the work of your hand. Isaiah 64:8 (NKJV)

The Victorious Life.

1 Samuel 17:24‐47; The Philistine army was ready to fight. Merely a boy, David traveled from his
home to the battlefront in order to check on his brothers and supply them with food. There, he
heard the notorious Goliath threaten Israel. The young Israelite was outraged: Who was this giant
to challenge the Lord's army? David sensed God's direction and obeyed. A battle ensued between a
giant and a boy, but the almighty God stood with the youth. Goliath, along with the entire Philistine
army, was defeated. This is truly an amazing story‐‐we rarely hear of anything this miraculous in
our world today. But we, like David, can live triumphantly, even in the midst of terrifying and
"impossible" circumstances. First, we need to understand success from the Lord's perspective:
Goals should align with Scripture; then our heavenly Father directs us, and we follow with
confidence. Second, we‐‐like David‐‐ought to have a clear picture of what needs to be accomplished.
Good goals should be clear enough to write in a sentence or two. For example, David's aim was to
free God's people from their enemies. Our goals may be huge and lifelong, like modeling
dependence on Jesus for our children. Others, such as creating a weekly family night, are simpler to
achieve. Whether facing a daunting challenge like David's or an easier undertaking, you should live
intentionally. Ask the Lord for direction and purpose as you write down goals, both big and small.
The same God who led David in victory desires to lead you today.

How to Have a Life of Joy.

Do you know how to have a life of joy? Mother Teresa teaches us an important lesson about
happiness and about real joy. She was one of those people who emanated joy. Born in 1910 in
Skopje, Macedonia, she felt called as a teenager to move to Calcutta, India. Some months later she
saw a sight that completely revolutionized her life. Shortly after moving to Calcutta she spotted a
homeless, dying woman lying in the gutter, being eaten by rats. After seeing that, compassion
compelled her to beg an abandoned Hindu temple from the government and convert it into a crude,
make‐shift hospital for the dying. "Nobody should die alone" she would later say. Mother Teresa
went on to establish homes for the destitute dying in numerous cities. But in spite of devoting her
life to people in such dire straits, she radiated joy and happiness. This incredible woman was once
interviewed by Malcolm Muggeridge from the BBC News. He asked her an unusual question:
"Mother Teresa, the thing I noticed about you and the hundreds of sisters who now form your team
is that you all look so happy. Is that a put‐on?" Here was a woman who had none of the things we
like to think of as bringing happiness: a home, a family, prosperity. Rather, she lived in near‐poverty
and spent her time wiping dirt and various body fluids from half‐dead cancer and leprosy victims ‐‐
and appeared to be blissfully happy. "Is that a put‐on" she was asked? She replied, "Oh no, not at all.
Nothing makes you happier than when you really reach out in mercy to someone who is badly
hurt." She would agree that happiness does not come from acquiring, but by‐product of giving: time,
money, love. Do you want a life of joy? Start by giving.

You are great in the sight of God.

There was a musician who was exceptionally talented and a gifted player of fiddle. He was once
performing before a large audience, who were enjoying the heavenly melody with rapt attention
and great appreciation. He was playing his own favorite fiddle which had four strings and a bow. As
the program progressed, one of the strings broke. But he continued to perform without
interruption. Then a second string also broke. Still he continued the music without break. After a
while, the third string also broke. He continued his magic performance with a single string, with
excellent expertise. His music was so melodious that no one could feel the great tragedy that
occurred during the performance. This incident teaches us that for a really talented and gifted
musician, a single string is sufficient to create a miraculous melody. The mighty Goliath was felled
by a single small stone in the gifted hands of David, because God was with David {1 Samuel 17: 49,
50}. Jesus employed the simple and humble gift of five loaves and two fish from a boy to feed the
thousands who had assembled to hear His sermon {John 6: 9‐13}. God has given every person a
generous gift of special talents, which we often hide and refuse to use. (Matthew 25: 14‐30 and
Luke 19: 11‐27). “Each one of us has received a special gift in proportion to what Christ has given”
{Ephesians 4: 7}. We must serve God and our fellow men utilizing fully, all the talents and gifts God
has given to us (Ephesians 4:11, 12}.

Bridge’s of Blessing for the year 2010.

A young girl who was traveling on train for the first time heard that it would have to cross several
rivers. She was troubled and fearful as she thought of the water. But each time the train came to a
river, a bridge was always there to provide a safe way across. After passing safely over several
rivers and stream, the girl settled back in her seat with a sign of relief. Then she turned to her
mother and said, “I’m not worried anymore. Somebody has put the bridges for us all the way!”
When we come to deep rivers of trial and the streams of sorrow, we too will find that God in His
grace “has put bridges for us all the way.” So we need not fall into hopelessness and anxiety. In
delightful though often untraceable ways, He will meet our needs. We can be sure that He will
provide a way. Those who have given their situations over to God can exclaim with the psalmist,
“The Lord is righteous in all His ways and gracious in all His works…The Lord preserves all who
love Him” (Psalm 145: 17, 20).

Lets thank God;

For every blessing what He has done and every bridge what he is made to overcome the trials and
tribulations in the year 2008, Lets pray;God we come to your throne of Grace and mercy, We come
to You seeking Your protection and Your goodness for the entire new year 2010, often harried and
driven by life's pressures and temptations. But we come to You, not demanding, but submitting our
self’s to be used for your glory ‐‐ not just today, but for the rest of my life. In Jesus we pray. Amen.

Help in the Rain.

One night, at 11:30 PM, an older African American woman was standing on the side of an Alabama
highway trying to endure a lashing rain storm. Her car had broken down and she desperately
needed a ride. Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car. A young white man stopped to
help her ‐ generally unheard of in those conflict‐filled 1960s. The man took her to safety, helped her
get assistance and put her into a taxi cab. She seemed to be in a big hurry! She wrote down his
address, thanked him and drove away.  Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's door. To
his surprise, a giant console color TV was delivered to his home. A special note was attached. It
read: "Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway the other night. The rain drenched not
only my clothes but my spirits. Then you came along. Because of you, I was able to make it to my
dying husband's bedside just before he passed away. God bless you for helping me and unselfishly
serving others." Bible tells us in Matthew 7:12, Do to others whatever you would like them to do to
you. Offer help to anyone who needs it, Thank others for helping you. If you help someone, someone
will help you. Treat people the way you want them to treat you. If everyone bears that in mind,
there will be joy & peace.

After The Rain.

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, There will always be sunshine, After the Rain. Perhaps
you may stumble, you might even fall, and But God's always ready to answer your call. He knows
every heartache, sees every tear; a word from His lips can calm every fear. Your sorrows may linger
throughout the night but suddenly vanish, at dawn's early light. Will you trust your Lord every day
for your entire life, marriage and your future? Do you trust your Lord to provide for your emotional,
spiritual and physical needs while your spouse is gone? "O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who
trusts in you." Psalm 84:12, The Savior is waiting somewhere above; to give you His grace and send
you His love. Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, God always sends rainbows, After the Rain.
After The Rain there will always be sunshine.

No Charge for Mother’s Love.

A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and
handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an
apron, she read it, and this is what it said: For cutting the grass: $5.00, For cleaning up my room this
week: $1.00, For going to the store for you: $.50, Baby‐sitting my kid brother while you went
shopping: $.25, Taking out the garbage: $1.00, For getting a good report card: $5.00, For cleaning up
and raking the yard: $2.00, Total owed: $14.75, well, his mother looked at him standing there, and
the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the
paper he'd written on, and this is what she wrote: For the nine months I carried you while you were
growing inside me: No Charge, For all the nights that I've sat up with you, doctored and prayed for
you: No Charge, For all the trying times, and all the tears that you've caused through the years: No
Charge, For all the nights that were filled with dread, and for the worries I knew were ahead: No
Charge, For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose: No Charge, Son, when you add it up,
the cost of my love is: No Charge. When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there
were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and said, "Mom, I do love you." And
then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote: "PAID IN FULL". You will never how much
your parent’s worth till you becomes a parent, be a giver not a taker, especially with your parents.
There is a lot to give, besides money. IF your mom is alive and close to you give her a big kiss and
ask her for forgiveness. If she is far away, call her. If she passed away, pray for her. Ephesians 6:1
says; Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right, we need to obey our parents to live
long and blessed life.

Butterfly ……

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the
butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to
stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.
So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit
of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled
wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the
wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.
Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen
body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly. What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not
understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get
through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its
wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Sometimes
struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without
any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could
never fly! I asked for Strength......... And God gave me Difficulties to make me strong. I asked for
Wisdom......... And God gave me Problems to solve. I asked for Prosperity......... And God gave me Brain
and Brawn to work. I asked for Courage......... And God gave me Danger to overcome. I asked for
Love......... And God gave me troubled people to help. I asked for Favors......... And God gave me
Opportunities. I received nothing I wanted........ I received everything I needed! Trust in God. Always!

A little girl was enjoying the beauty of the garden in her home. Her father had a good collection of
rare and exotic plants. He grew them with tender care. The girl was fascinated by a plant full of fine
and fragrant flowers. She went near the plant and enjoyed its beauty and the fragrance of its fine
flowers. Suddenly she noted that the plant was growing in a heap of filth. She could not tolerate the
presence of dirt at the bottom of the plant with such fantastic flowers. She conceived a plan to clean
the plant. She pulled the plant with all her might and uprooted it. She then carried it to the tap and
washed the shoot and roots in running tap‐water till all traces of dirt were washed away. She then
placed the plant on a clean stone and went away, thinking that she had done a great deed indeed.
Later her father came to the garden and saw the uprooted plant. Its flowers and leaves had wilted
and the plant had almost died in the scorching sun. His little daughter ran to him to exhibit her
achievement. “I have cleaned it, Daddy”, she reported innocently. “It was placed in dirty soil. Now it
is clean.” The father showed her how her treatment had almost killed the plant. He told her that he
had collected the filthy soil and placed it to cover the plant’s roots as it was the best medium to
grow that plant. It could grow up healthily and produce fine flowers only if grown in filthy soil. She
was sad that the plant had suffered and withered by her cleaning. Pain, poverty and illness may
cause agony in our life. Sight of successful persons may make us depressed and envious. A great
gardener mixes the right soil for each plant. In the same way God provides each of us with the best
environment required for optimum spiritual growth. But it may appear to be unpleasant to us and
we may even complain to God about our plight.

Cycle of Evil.

There was once a king who was so cruel and unjust that his subjects yearned for his death or
dethronement. However, one day he surprised them all by announcing that he had decided to turn
over a new leaf. "No more cruelty, no more injustice," he promised, and he was as good as his word.
He became known as the 'Gentle Monarch'. Months after his transformation one of his ministers
plucked up enough courage to ask him what had brought about his change of heart, and the king
answered: "As I was galloping through my forests I caught sight of a fox being chased by a hound.
The fox escaped into his hole but not before the hound had bitten into its leg and lamed it for life.
Later I rode into a village and saw the same hound there. It was barking at a man. Even as I
watched, the man picked up a huge stone and flung it at the dog, breaking its leg. The man had not
gone far when he was kicked by a horse. His knee was shattered and he fell to the ground, disabled
for life. The horse began to run but it fell into a hole and broke its leg. Reflecting on all that had
happened, I thought: 'Evil begets evil. If I continue in my evil ways, I will surely be overtaken by evil.
So I decided to change". The minister went away convinced that the time was ripe to overthrow the
king and seize the throne. Immersed in thought, he did not see the steps in front of him and fell,
breaking his neck. Bible tells us "Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him
it is sin" – James 4:17

Atheist Couple

There was an atheist couple lived in a remote area of Texas, USA, along with their 5 years old child.
The couple never told their daughter anything about God. One night when they were having their
dinner, the parents fought with each other and her dad took his gun and shot her mom right in front
of the child. Then, the dad shot himself. They never thought about the future of that little girl, the
little girl watched it all. She was then sent to an Orphan home. There was a Christian warden
working in that orphan home and she took the child to church. On the first day of Sunday school, the
warden told the Sunday school teacher that the girl had never heard of Jesus, and to have patience
with her. At the time of group discussion, teacher held up a picture of Jesus and said, "Does anyone
know who this is?" The little girl said, "I do, that's the man who was holding me that night, when my
parents died." Is it any wonder that Jesus loves the little children? When I heard this incident, it
made me stop and think.  Oh, to have the innocence of a small child, to see the beauty in everything
around us... May be we all need to stop and look at life through the eyes of a child? Look for the
beauty in people that we meet. Look for the beauty of the things that God has created. Live for the
moment, and drink in the beauty of what life has to offer us. We only pass by this way once, so take
time to stop and smell the roses. We are the children of God, and Jesus loves us all.

Genuine Joy.

Every decision that we make and every action that we take is an attempt by us to gain some
measure of happiness. The Bible calls us to rejoice in the Lord. Genuine joy can be found in having
our relationship with God restored through faith in Jesus Christ and celebrating all that He has
saved us from and all that He has given us now that we are adopted into His family. Joy can also be
found in walking in Gods ways and obeying His commands. There is also joy in using the creation in
the way that God intended and enjoying the good gifts that God has given us without making them
into idols. We often short circuit this process and end up miserable and frustrated because we get
so caught up in trying to get joy out of creation that we neglect our relationship with God and start
disobeying his good commands in a futile attempt to get more joy, but God calls us to first and
foremost seek our joy in Him.
Road That Leads to Success.

God often uses slow storms and divine detours to get you down the path of His calling and purpose
for your life. Bad things do happen to good people, but remember “all things work together for the
good of those who love God, those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). It’s not
that God intentionally intends us to go through these difficulties, but God uses them for His
purposes in our lives. When we experience some kind of failure; we feel that life is over. It seems
that nothing else is left to move on.  God wants to take your failure and turn it into the foundation
for how He uses you for the rest of your life. Sometimes the worst thing that happens to you can
turn out to be the best thing that happens because God has a way of using troubled times to lay a
foundation in your life and prepare you for what God wants. You’re going to experience some
shipwrecks and snakebites along the journey of life. But, God is going to get you where He wants
you to be. If you become more like Christ through ups and downs, then even failures can be seen as
success. Abraham Lincoln has gone through many failures. His mother died, he failed in business, he
lost his job, he was engaged but his fiancé died and his heart was broken. It was devastating to him.
Finally, when we look at last point where God took him, then we know that he was the elected as
president of the United States of America. In our life, whatever failures we are facing. We’ve been
created to celebrate the sovereignty of God. God is sovereign. He is always at work and your job is
to trust Him all the times of your life.

A walk with Lord at Sea Shore

One night a man had a dream that he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky
flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one
belonging to him, the other belonging to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before
him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his
life there was only one set of footprints, and that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times
in his life...  This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. "LORD, you said that
once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But during the most troublesome
times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most
you would leave me." The LORD replied, "My precious, precious child. I love you and I would never
leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was
then that I carried you."

Spider's Web.

Robert Bruce, the king of Scotland got defeated in the battles six times by his enemies. Therefore,
leaving the country he fled to a forest and was lying inside a cave with a broken heart. In one corner
of that cave, a spider was making effort to spin a web. With the thread emanating from its stomach,
the spider tried attaching it from one end to another, and at every effort it kept falling down. Yet, it
never grew weary. For the seventh time, mustering all its strength, the spider tried again, and
became successful in getting to the other end with the thread. It also completed the web. A new
strength and boldness was formed in the heart of Robert Bruce who witnessed this scene. He got up
saying, “I will also use all my might and be successful in this seventh attempt.” Accordingly, he won
the victory. Therefore, we should also not become weary in our efforts. God will surely make us
victorious. Since we are surrounded by such great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything
that hinders, the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run the race with perseverance marked out
for us (Hebrews 12:1).
Lost in forest

Once a man got trapped in a thick and a dangerous forest in Africa and lost his way. He was unable
to find his way out of that forest. He was surrounded by thick bushes. He was stuck with fear and
thought that his life was at risk, because of the other wild animals which might attack him. While
wandering through forests in order to find his way out of the forest, he found a single lonely
cottage. With great anxiety, he asked the old man who was living there to show him the way and let
him know that he is at safe place totally out of the forest. The man started walking behind the old
man. After following the old man for a long time, with fear and anxiousness in his heart, he asked
the old man, "Where is the way?" The old man replied, "Sir! There is no path ahead. I am the way.
Just follow me." Very soon, the old man led the young man out of the forest and made sure that he is
on the right road from where he can find his way home. When we lose our way and end up
panicking what happens next, remember God will direct your path and show a way in which you
should blindly walk trusting Him to receive His blessings and keep up His will. The way through
which He is taking you might seem longer. But don't stop in the middle and question God "Where is
the way?" He knows where He should take you. Walk with Him. Your future will begin to glow with
the light of heaven into which it will ultimately blend. Your path of life will lead on into the infinite
distances of eternity. There might be darkness in some areas of your life. But, he wants to be your
light and bring you out of such darkness, forests, and deserts, lost unknown roads. Just when your
river Jordan is overflowing its banks, making a crossing seem impossible even in such
circumstances, He will open a way through. In this evil world, Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to
blessings and eternal life. The truth that can never be proved wrong is that He is an existing and a
living God. He wants to take control of your life. Allow Him to direct your path and walk in His
footsteps for He said, "I am the way, the truth and the life" (John 14:6)

Lighted to lighten

One evening a man took a small candle from a box and began to climb a long winding stairway.
"Where are we going?" asked the candle. "We're going up higher than a house to show the ships the
way to the harbor." "But no ship in the harbor could ever see my light," the candle said. "It is so very
small." "If your light is small," the man said "just keep on burning brightly and leave the rest to me."
When they reached the top of the long stairs, they came to a large lamp. Then he took the little
candle and lit the lamp. Soon the large polished mirrors behind the lamp sent beams of fight out
across the miles of sea. We are God's candle. Our job is to keep on shining. The success of our work
is in His hands. A tiny candle or match can start a forest fire. The little flame of your good example
can actually change the lives of others without you knowing it. Be a light to them like the beacon
light in the story which guided the ships to safe harbor.

Wait On The LORD.

Even in our modern age of conveniences, waiting is still a big part of life. When we think of waiting,
what comes to mind? We might conjure up visions of an airport terminal, a doctor's waiting room,
the line at the supermarket, or being stuck in rush hour traffic. The facts are, most of us are waiting
for something most of the time: Maybe you are in your job situation that's really tough to endure
and you are waiting and hoping that conditions will change for the better. Maybe you are without a
job and waiting for news on an application. Maybe you are ill (or have a loved one who is) and
waiting for your health to improve. Maybe you are on a diet and waiting for your weight to drop a
few pounds. A single person may be waiting for Mr. or Miss Right. Or maybe you are waiting for
your spouse or child to become interested in spiritual things. The simple fact is, in spite of our
modern age and our dislike for waiting, life is full of waiting. And one of the most challenging
exhortations of Scripture is "Wait." But waiting, despite our impatience and our dislike for it, is a
vital element in life. Indeed, waiting has a number of benefits that we will discuss in this study.
When we think of waiting on the Lord for everything, there are a number of important questions
that need to be answered and understood in light of the principles and promises of Scripture. Why?
Because without these answers, we become like a long‐tailed cat scurrying around in a room full of
rocking chairs. We become fidgety, fearful, frustrated, anxious, and even angry. However, because
the Lord tells us to wait, and since it has some wonderful benefits, we need to know what it means
to wait and how that is to be done. Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD; Be strong, and let your heart
take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD..... I don't know what you may be going through at the moment,
but whatever it is, the challenge of Scripture is to wait on the Lord because, unlike temporal man
and the fleeting world in which we live, the sovereign Lord of the universe loves us with a steadfast
love and personally cares for us like a father. Isaiah 40:31, But those who wait on the LORD Shall
renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Enjoy ice cream rather than sand.

There lived a man who had a daughter named Sophie, a toddler. He used to take her to a park not
far from their apartment. One day as she was playing in a sandbox, an ice cream salesman
approached them. He purchased her a treat, and when he turned to give it to her, he saw her mouth
was full of sand. Where he intended to put a delicacy, she had put dirt. Did he love her dirt in her
mouth? Absolutely no, was he going to allow her to keep the dirt in her mouth? No way. He loved
her right where she was, but he refused to leave her there. He carried her over to the water and
washed her mouth because of his love towards her. God does the same for us. He holds us over the
fountain. God says "Spit out the dirt, my child because I have got something better for you." And so
He cleanses us from filth: immorality, dishonesty, prejudice, bitterness, greed. We don't enjoy the
cleansing; sometimes we even opt for the dirt over the ice cream. But if we do, the loss is ours. God
has a better offer. He wants us to be like Him. God's plan for you is nothing short of a new heart. So
God wants us to change our heart. God's love never ceases. The love of people often increases with
performance and decreases with mistakes. But, it’s not the same with God; God doesn't love us less
if we fail or more if we succeed. Though we limit Him, ignore Him, reject Him, despise Him, disobey
Him, He will not change and He wants us to enjoy ice cream rather than sand.

Out Put of Anger,

In November 1996 Sports Illustrated reported a bizarre story of competitiveness gone too far.
According to the magazine, in a New Mexico high school football game between Albuquerque
Academy and St. Pius X on October 12, 1996, several of the Academy players found themselves with
strange cuts, slashes, and scratches on their arms and hands. One boy was bleeding freely from
three cuts that later required ten stitches to close. Another boy told his coaches, "It feels like they've
got razor blades out there." Well, almost. Referee Steve Fuller inspected the equipment of the
opposing team. What he found on the helmet of the offensive center were two chin‐strap buckles
sharpened to a razor's edge. In the investigation that followed, the offending player's father, a
pediatric dentist, admitted to milling the buckles. He had been angered in the previous game by
what he thought was excessive head‐slapping against his son by opposing linemen. This was his
solution. Sports Illustrated reported, "Several observers describe the father, who was working on
the sideline chain gang during the Albuquerque Academy‐St. Pius game, as a hothead. He was so
vocal in his criticism of the officiating during St. Pius's game against Capital High on Sept. 28 that he
was asked to leave the sideline crew." Hatred and anger‐they're as ugly and violent as those razor‐
sharp buckles. Friends, Word of God says to love one another even though they hurt and hate you. It
is Gods commandment to love your neighbors as yourself. He who loves his brother abides in the
light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. 1 John 2:10

Solution for our Burdens

Once, their was a man who used to sell sugar across villages. He had a donkey that use to carry bags
of sugar everyday for this man. While traveling the man and the donkey have to cross a pool of
water, a bridge to travel across another village. Everyday the donkey used to carry bags of sugar
and help the man. One day the donkey fell in the water as they were crossing the bridge. The sugar
was melted and the burden on the donkeys back was lessened. The donkey felt so happy and it
started doing it everyday. But the poor man was going into losses everyday. So one day the man
was really upset and decided to sell away the donkey to a washer men {Dhobi}. The donkey now
had to carry cloths from one village to another everyday. It has to cross the bridge. Now donkey
thought that if at all he fell in the bridge again his burden who have been lessen. As it though he
through himself in the water. The clothes were wet and the burden was too much for the donkey to
take and it drowned in the water and died finally. Friends, when we are over burdened with loads
of problems in our lives, we always try to find solutions by our selves and finally end up in wrong
things which in turn take away our lives. It’s always better to cast our burdens upon the Lord who
will take care of the rest instead of we trying to find the wrong things out and put our selves into
problems. If we are facing a problem today, it means God already have a solution with him. With
out he having a solution he will not allow the problem to torment us. So the best solution is to seek
him (Jesus Christ).

Compassion.

Even amidst a huge crowd Abraham Lincoln the President of USA, spotted and approached a poor
young man. When he gestured him to spell out his plea, he presented his case, "President, I was
formerly a drummer in the army. A terrible disease attacked me and I am the under medication.
There is no one to help me" President then enquired whether his parents were alive and found that
he was an orphan. The heart of Abraham Lincoln was moved with compassion and immediately he
gave a chit to the Army Captain to help that young man. The Christ‐like compassion flowed from the
heart of Abraham Lincoln. Today, let us examine whether we have this virtue of Christ‐like
compassion in us. "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who
went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him"
(Acts 10:38).

A Flower of God's Design.

A young preacher was walking with an older more seasoned preacher in the garden one day and
the younger preacher, feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do, he was inquiring of
the older preacher. The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the young preacher a
rosebud and told him to open it without tearing off any petals. The young preacher looked in
disbelief at the older preacher and was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly have to
do with his wanting to know the WILL OF GOD for his life and for his ministry. Because of his high
respect for the older preacher, he proceeded to TRY to unfold the rose, while keeping every petal
intact it wasn't long before he realized how impossible it was to do so. Noticing the younger
preacher's inability to unfold the rosebud while keeping it intact, the older preacher began to recite
the following poem. "It is only a tiny rosebud, a flower of God's design; but I cannot unfold the
petals with these clumsy hands of mine. The secret of unfolding flowers is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly. When in my hands they die. If I cannot unfold a rosebud this
flower of God's design. Then how can I have the wisdom to unfold this life of mine? So I'll trust in
Him for leading each moment of my day. I will look to him for His guidance each step of the pilgrim
way. The pathway that lies before me, only my Heavenly Father knows. I'll trust Him to unfold the
moments, just as He unfolds the rose"

The Important Things in Life.

A philosophy professor stood before his class with some items on the table in front of him. When
the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to
fill it with rocks, about 2″ in diameter. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed
that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook
the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked
the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor picked up a box of sand and
poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He then asked once more if the
jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "Yes." "Now," said the professor, "I want you
to recognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things ‐ your Church,
your Ministry, your family, your partner, your health, your children ‐ things that if everything else
was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that
matter ‐ like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else, the small stuff." "If you put
the sand into the jar first," he continued "there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same
goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room
for the things that are important to you. Pray every day to God, give thanks for what He has done,
Love every one and Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your
children. Take your partner out. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house and give a
dinner. Take care of the rocks first ‐ the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just
sand."
