I am writing this reference at the request of Jie Hua Yu. I have known Jie
for two years in my capacity as a teacher at El Capitan High School. He has
been an Academic Mentor for my class and is currently taking AP Physics
with me.

Jie is one of my top students in class and very capable. He is outgoing and
very active. In my class, Jie has shown to me that he is hardworking and
responsible. There have not been any instances when he would come to
school unprepared. I also rely on him to help his peers and be a positive
influence to others. Besides his accomplishments in my class, Jie has been
part of club activities and works at his parent’s restaurant, China House on
occasions. Based on his grades, attendance, and class participation, I'd rate
Jie’s academic performance in my class as superior.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend Jie Hua Yu. If his performance in

my class is any indication of how he'd perform in future classes, Jie will be a
