Pre-speaking Present the students the video “At a shop” after Plenary 6’’
that present the different products seen in the
video with flashcards.
Emphasize the pronunciation of the vocabulary,
drill and practice, and make corrections.
(Appendix 1).

Pre-speaking Explain the key questions and answers to ask Plenary 5’’
prices by using the flashcards provided before.
(Appendix 2)

Ask students such questions using the flashcards


on the board as:

How much is a pepper?

Drill and practice to reinforce singular and plural


form.

Write examples on the board.

While- Tell the students to simulate they are at a shop Plenary 10’’
speaking and pretend to be customers. Ask the students to
look the products around the whiteboard and
think in three products that they want to buy.
Give them some minutes to think about the
products that they are going to get.
Select three students randomly and ask them to
take and ask the prices of the selected products.
Emphasize the use of verb to be singular and
plural form to ask prices on products.
For example:
How much is a banana?
How much are three cucumbers?
Check for mistakes and correction.
Post-speaking Ask the students to work in pairs and tell them Plenary 5’’
that one is the customer and the other is the PW
seller. Complete the activity change the roles.

Elicit responses from the pair such as:

How much is a tomato?


It is seven pesos.

How much are two bananas?


They are ten pesos.

Finally, explain to them that they can use is for


singular and are for plural.
