 Provide care for complex adult trauma patients on a critical care unit with diagnoses ranging from
unstable post-operative patients, spinal cord injury, acute neuro trauma, STEMIS, strokes, sepsis,
etc.
 Responsible to maintain and assure functionality for a variety of medical devices such as
tracheostomies, ventilators, enteral feeding tubes, chest tubes, various surgical drains, wound VACs,
etc.
 Preceptor and mentor for both new employees and nursing students in the critical care environment
 Frequently collaborate with fellow members of the critical care team in order to provide optimal
patient care. Interpret and notify involved practitioners of changes to patient’s condition, lab results,

Intent is to review issues that impact nursing and strive to improve the quality, safety, and effectiveness of
nursing practice ultimately down to the individual unit level. The present focus is on efficiency, decreased
length of stays, and improving nursing practice.

Critically looks at practice opportunities, evidence based practice, and solutions within the orthopedic patient
population.

ORMC Falls Committee, member, 2011 to 2012


Examines the current falls prevention practices on the orthopedic unit with the goal of decreasing falls,
maintaining transparency, and standardizing practices.

Wound Resource Nurse, 2010 to 2013


Responsible for weekly rounding with a team on the orthopedic unit to assess patients’ skin. The primary
focus was on areas that are high risk for exposure to friction, moisture or pressure. Coordinated with staff
members to obtain orders for dressings, care and equipment in order to treat or prevent wounds.
