My Reflection Essay

In the begin of the semester, I have a little hard time to use English write essays and lack

of knowing how to use English. On the last semester, my English class 114A is little hard for me

and struggled to think about a new topic write those essays. I don’t know how I can write a good

essay and how to use fixed my grammar errors. So, I realize this class can help me to become a

better writer.

In this class, English 114B is also I have a hard time to understand the essay topic and

can't write-out what it is. But, the professor suggests us go to The Learning Resource Center

(LRC) could help us get a better idea how to write an essay and improve our writing. So, I go to

the LRC and work with one of a tutor. When I meet with her, she is read my project space essay

and prompt to get a better idea what I write about. The tutor tells me I need to add more

Chinatown history get more details. Because when people don’t know where the Chinatown and

what it is and need to explain what look like. Also, my essay didn’t input the topic of injustice

and I need to write those out. It is very helpful to me because I can have a better understand

where I need to improve. So, in the project space, I have improved my MLA format and

understand how to write a work cited. I have added more quotes and find out some evidence

from those websites. Also, I have fixed some of my grammar and add some of the sentences. It

was understanding how another opinion on my essay.

In the first, I have revision my project text essay. This is my first essay written in the

class use green book and it was little hard to use handwriting to finish all four pages. This essay

writes in class on having one hour fifteen minutes and it was little rush to do it up. So, I have a

little low grade in this essay and to rewrite to get a better grade. First, I give my essay a title and

fixed my MLA format. Before I didn’t write a thesis statement, but later in the revision essay and

I write my thesis statement more clearly to fixed it. On those first three paragraphs, I have added

more details and explain more about how our parents think about their children. Also, I was

comparing those six readings and choose three reading that I have a better understand those

topics. I explain how female not fair in our society and male stronger. On the articles, I explain

more details how roles gender play at home and give out the evidence examples from articles.

On my green book, I only write two articles so I add one more article and how male in college

show their masculinity. It can know as for how a college student when turning 21 drinking helps

them become a good adult. Also, I have written a summary up for those three articles and add

more detail explain that information. When on the last, I write out my own experience about the

gender unequal in my life. It clearly to know what going on my childhood age and my mom

doesn’t like my short hair. In the conclusion paragraph, I have total rewrite my thesis statement

and make it more clear.

On my project text and space essay, I have improved my grammar because I have to go to

the LRC grammar lab for 40 minutes. The tutor is helping my little basic grammar errors. So, I

can have a better understand where my grammar wrong in my essay. I can fix a little bit of those

grammar errors. Form the first, I didn’t explain more how the gender impacts our society. That

makes the thesis statement is not clear and not cover my topic. I want to work a better grade so I

go to LRC and grammar lab improve my essay. I think my essays are better and better and good

to know how I can improve. Also, I have a better understand how to write a correct MLA format.

It can know not focus on the prompt and grammar is focus on the thesis statement make it more

clear. My essays are improved on grammar and thesis statement. On the future, I hope can

become a better and better writer.
