INTERVIEW #2 - Different views of deception

Generally if we discuss about deception people would say it's about causing others to have a

false belief but in our society with people believing in different norms they may view deception in many

ways:

Lynn, 19 It is hard to explain what deception is specially if you don't experience it firsthand but

deception may come from our inner self and we may be deceiving ourselves believing on what other

wants us to be and not hearing out what our hearts want.

Farah, 21 The sad reality of the world, it is a delusion and temporary.

Apollo, 20 The worst king of deception is a religious deception. Believing you are saved, when in

fact you are not.

Ana, 23 Emotions can be the root of deceiving other people on how we really feel about them,

how we really think on people around us and also how we perceive and pursue what we want.

Rey, 24 Deception can come from religious beliefs and norms are all around us but believing to these

and practicing them is something we should decide on our own and not by abiding them just because

we are told to do so.

Deception may come from people around us or from what we watch and hear from their word

of mouth letting us believe in false information and it can be about education, religion, information or

even our self worth but I strongly believe we have a part to play in this deception thing. We may trust

some people but checking them out won't hit the relationship rock bottom because it's for the safety of

both parties.

Businesses may be built for the purpose of gaining profit but many terms and rules also apply

and should be considered before their operation starts.

One thing that most businesses should be aware of is the sustainability of the environment,

though many businesses big or small doesn't follow proper waste disposal and manipulates penalties

and punishments given to them by giving out bribes still some corporations do follow environmental

care.

The argument revolved between figures and rules to be followed but it was hard to prove that

although business does care for their profit and investors does not only care in the quantitative

information but also on how the business is being operated because the longer the business survives

and makes profit the better their investment would make.

Abiding the by the rules in taking care of the environment makes the business more appealing

and builds a market differentiation towards other business. With this it makes a good image and as

goodwill is created, the company's image blossoms attracting investors and consumers.

Affecting the bottom line does not exactly mean a loss but profit may be affected and as we

analyzed cost benefit it may be better that to loss some profit for environmental care than gaining

income in the mean time but soon when it is revealed that the company does not follow environmental

care heavy penalties and punishments will be performed and observed that may result in losing the

profit gained also the business itself.

Report paper 2 Problems arise between buyers and sellers

Many problems arise in farms but mostly it is all about natural climate and weather that affects

the crops and animals of the farmers in which the distribution of products in the market may decrease

and it may be not enough to provide for the outside consumers.

Since the current set of circumstances involves relatively high input prices and low crop and

livestock prices, the problem of the difference between the cost of production and sales receipts is

shared by all farmers. In fact, many farmers feel there is a single solution to the farm crisis.

Farmers suffer the most in high pricing in the economy. Mostly of the products they sell at the

market have other competing brands that people patronize that results to small demands on local

products of farmers.

This made the them more anxious specially the small time farmers and those who does not

legally own the land, of the high price on the fertilizers and other equipments needed for their crops

same goes with the foods and supplements of their animals. Though technological advancement has

helped alot specially in farming, other farmers cannot afford to buy these machines for faster operation

because of lack of income.

Farmers on average are older, have lower education and a bundle of less valuable skills than

non-farmers on average where information on alternative opportunities may be limited or in periods of

high unemployment also some farmers have limited assets and resources.

The governement would play a great part on helping like: intensifying the use of land through

the application of greater amounts of variable and capital inputs another thing they should increase the

size of farm business and increase the specialisation and growing concentration of production and

output on larger farms accompanied by the growing marginalisation of small-scale farming, leading to

increased differentiation in farming.

(Reflection paper debate no. 6 we should tolerate bribery because it is now a part and a way of life in

doing business in the Philippines otherwise it will be hard to survived and sustain business)

It is hard and even dangerous to start a business in an industry full of corruption specially

when the government is involved.

When businesses gain political influence in a country, they attempt to use the influence to

alter the regulatory structure. With limited regulation, firms can easily avoid the local political structure.

Companies might be tempted to use outright bribery. Paying bribes is sometimes viewed as an

almost unavoidable cost of doing business. Companies caught making illicit payments have sometimes

pleaded that they cannot operate without running the risk of violating the law and argue that the costs

to comply are onerous.

Refusing to pay bribes can cost companies revenue and profits in the short term. Yet, giving in

to demands for corrupt payments is hardly a guarantee of success. Indeed, a company may well end up

shelling out far more once it is caught than it ever gained from making the illicit payments.

Once begun, companies have to continue to pay, often more and more just to stay in place

and in the long run the harder they struggle to get out of corruption the deeper they sink.

Companies that survives the experince and takes the lesson can develop an unusual

competitive advantage that will help them well to be equipped in the challenging markets around the

world. Experience is something that makes a diffference in entering difficult markets where competitors

without similar experince are reluctant to follow.

According to an article, companies can cope with government corruption by understanding

the political situation in each market and operating accordingly. Learning how to deal effectively with

one market will make it easier to deal with others.

Physical and sexual abuses are among the most prevalent crimes committed against female

laborers abroad, usually by their employers.

Filipino women working overseas have been raped and sexually abused and harassed. Some

workers have been forced to work in slave-like conditions. Others have been arrested from alleged

criminal activities and denied due process of law, in some cases suffering harsh punishments. Some

spend more than a year in the embassy compound, waiting for their passports, back pay or the

resolution of their legal cases.

Instead of guaranteeing their ability to work with dignity and free of violence, governments

have systematically denied them key labor protections extended to other workers. Domestic workers,

often making extraordinary sacrifices to support their families, are among the most exploited and

abused workers in the world.

Increased awareness has unfortunately not been matched by concerted government action.

Even though these abuse wokers had enough the government cannot restrict them to work abroad and

offer jobs in the build build build project.

Although jobs were offered by the government, still most of these ofw were not qualified to

work another main reaskn why they choose to work overseas and also the vast number of abused ofw's

will have a long process to accomodate. They cannot sacrifice their time waiting to a to unsure job offer

and for their family to starve.

The government may plead to legal actions against the abuse and offer them to different

project of this administration but practucally speacking people would choose to work overseas earning

more although it costs their safety.

Interview No. 1
Advertisements are critical, that's what most businessmen thought since the market is

becoming highly competitive.

Advertisment is now considered one of the famous way to attract customers. But aren't you

curious how people do it back then? Print ads, that's it. Since the "word of mouth" is not always

effective, they thought that somehow, a piece of paper with unique drawings and slogan can help.

They put it in newspaper too.

Reading is not also a great way to advertise since not all people have the time to read. So they

think that maybe hearing it could help. So radio ads were made. Since people could listen to it even if

they do something. It exists even now. But not efficient as you think.

After television is introduced in the country, the TV commercial made its debut and

considered one of the most effective way to gain cunsumers. In fact, it is popular even now. Billboard

ads is now established. So people who visit the area could see the product even without any gadgets.

Now, the rising type of advertisment is the online ads. You could almost find it anywhere. Facebook,

twitter, instgram, google and even in YouTube. .

Yes, truly advertisement is continuously evolvong in the society. From way back then, print

ads were just like monotonous writings and drawings. But now, it is so colorful and attractive. Radio ads

evolved from just announcing and became comedy skit and even musical.

Television ads didn't change that big. It used to have acting and musical part which is what we

have now. But the advantage is they adapt to its environment where the main topic for its act is what

the society wants. For example, some commercials are about "hugot" which is obviously trending now.
