HISTORY
Growing up in a humble home of shoemakers, Alpha Consunji, saw everything behind
the process of shoe making. She saw the hard work that has to be exerted in making a pair of
shoes and the happiness of being able to design and finish it. Growing older, her love for
designing shoes also grew. She also developed a passion of making it because of the sense of
accomplishment that came with every finished pair.
One time, a friend asked her to make a simple sandal that she'd use in a party. And Alpha
did. It was loved by the partygoers and it became the talk of the town. Because of the quality of
what Alpha had made, demand for her work had increased. But there was a problem-- she lacked
funds. As if destiny had played, a young man whom she then married, James Zobelle, helped her.
With his help, she was able to start her business that she had long been dreaming of. They, hand
in hand, ran the business. Luck was on their side as their business started to bloom and then were
blessed with two healthy baby boys.
As years passed, Alpha and James' business slowly grew. Unfortunately, James was
blinded by money and betrayed his wife and stole from her. Dismayed by his decisions and
actions, she chose to go separate ways with him. Because of this, their business went downhill
but one look at her baby boys, she found more reasons to continue. She came back to her senses
and tried to pull things together and keep them from falling apart. She was determined to claim
the market again and with the help of Imelda Marcos, the queen of shoes, who always ordered
from her, she wasn't only able to claim it, she also expanded her target market. Her work became
famous not only locally but also internationally.
Her business expanded and then came the now 60-year old ALPHA AND SONS CO.
