People everywhere always are so lazy, but yet so eager to get whatever they want

whenever they want. The regular person would make their own efforts and their own money to

get the things they want, but there are also people who decide to take the easy way out. Other

people decide it is okay to steal and take.

Identity theft, also known as identity fraud, is a crime in which an imposter obtains key

pieces of personally identifiable information, such as Social Security or driver's license numbers,

in order to impersonate someone else. The information can be used to obtain credit, merchandise

and services in the name of the victim, or to provide the thief with false credentials. In addition

to running up debt, in rare cases, an imposter might provide false identification to police,

creating a criminal record or leaving outstanding arrest warrants for the person whose identity

has been stolen.

There are two ways that you can commit identity theft, the first way is true name. True-

name identity theft means the thief uses personal information to open new accounts. The thief

might open a new credit card account, establish cellular phone service or open a new checking

account in order to obtain blank checks.

The second way that ypu can commit identity theft is Account-takeover. This ultimately

means the imposter uses personal information to gain access to the person's existing accounts.

• Tax-related identity theft, where a thief files a false tax return with the Internal Revenue

Service (IRS) using a stolen Social Security number.

Davidson , Jr.3

• Medical identity theft, where a thief steals information, including health insurance member

numbers, to receive medical services. The victim's health insurance provider may get the

fraudulent bills, which will be reflected in the victim's account as services they received.

• Child identity theft, where a child's Social Security number is misused to apply for

government benefits, open bank accounts and other services. Children's information is often

sought after by criminals, as the damage may go unnoticed for a long time.

• Senior identity theft, where a senior is the target of an identity thief. Seniors are often in

contact with medical professionals and insurance providers and may be used to giving out

their personal information. They may also not be as aware of the scamming methods thieves

use to steal their information.

These are a couple of the different ways you can get your identity stolen, now this is how you

actually know if it has been stolen. Here are some warning signs that a person may be an identity

theft victim:

• Victim notices withdrawals from their bank account that weren't made by them.

• Victim doesn't receive bills or other important pieces of mail containing sensitive

information.

• Victim finds false accounts and charges on their credit report.

• Victim is rejected from a health plan because their medical records reflect a condition they

don't have.

• Victim receives an Internal Revenue Service notification that another tax return was filed

under their name.

• Victim is notified of a data breach at a company that stores their personal information.

If a person has lost or has had his wallet containing bank cards, driver's license and other forms

of identification stolen, it is possible their information may end up being used to commit identity

theft ("searchsecurity.tech").

Not only can one steal someone's identity through possession, but they can also steal ones

identity through the Internet and this does not make the problem any better, it proves that people

can do anything in attempt to steal your valuable information. Also, not only do people steal for

money, but some people like illegal immigrants will use someone else’s identity just so that they

can get recognized as a citizen of a country so that they can be employed and earn their own

money. despite the individual's intent, taking another name belonging to someone else and

saying it is yours is still completely illegal.

“Jonathan Oliveras, 26, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Gerald Bruce Lee in the

Eastern District of Virginia to a two-count criminal information charging him with wire fraud

and aggravated identity theft. Oliveras admitted to managing a scheme to purchase stolen

credit card account information through the Internet from individuals believed to be in

Russia. Oliveras also admitted to distributing the purchased information to individuals in the

New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C., metropolitan areas so that it could be used to

make fraudulent purchases.” this is a court case that was held in NY on August 10th of the

year 2011. People can reach you from across the world and be stealing your identity

(justice.gov).

Speaking of across the world, there once was a case called the "San Bernando" case

which had been held a while ago about how a man and a woman were involved in a terrorist

attack in San Bernando. The FBI had worked with Apple, in the attempt to crack the

terrorists' phone without damaging its contents, but the issue was that a third party had to get

involved in the case. After the FBI and apple had gotten the tech to work, Apple struck a

defiant tone, on a Monday evening, saying in a statement that the "backdoor" into its phones

sought by prosecutors "would set a dangerous precedent.... This case should never have been

brought." And I imagine Apple said this because they don’t want anyone else to be able to

what they did and break into someone else's phone without them even knowing and possibly

steal their identity that way too. (latimes.com)

Petitioner Ignacio Flores-Figueroa, an immigrant from Mexico, secured false

identification documents in order to gain employment at L&M Steel Services. He used a

false name, social security number and resident alien card. When the government discovered

this, it charged him with aggravated identity theft under (18 U.S.C. § 1028A(1)(a),) and he

was found guilty. Flores-Figueroa contends that under the statute, he committed mere

identity fraud rather than aggravated identity theft because he did not know that the identity

information in fact belonged to a real person. The government argues that the statute should

apply to all defendants who use another's identity information, regardless of their reason, or

intent. The outcome of this case will impact how identity theft cases are prosecuted as well as

the rights of immigrants who have used falsified identity documents (law.cornell.edu). This

court case explains how the issue is, did the man knowingly steal someone's identity or did

he not know that the identification he used for employment belonged to another person? And

it is going to change how other cases similar to this one are going to be executed in the

future.

Just like how each person has a physical identity, God has created a spiritual identity for

all people of creation. These are the few things that Peter tells us that God wants from us,

• A chosen people and royal priesthood.

• A holy nation, a people belonging to God, declaring his praises.

• God’s workmanship, created in Christ to do good works.

God wants every person to take their place in his kingdom and fulfill their destiny!

However, many people are ignorant of God’s ultimate plan for them and that their

spiritual identity is being destroyed. These are a couple of the ways the bible says you can protet

your spiritual identity.

Your spiritual identity can be stolen through ignorance of God’s word.

Ignoring God's word and unbelievers think your physical identity is the only image you have to

disperse yourself from others. Not only that but, unbelievers also let others confuse them about

their spiritual identity, God tells us to know who we are on the outside, but also to know our

relationship with him and how our own individual holiness shapes us into who we are.

Jesus Christ warned that even his identity would be stolen or “hacked” by men.

This is an example from the bible, of how Jesus Christ said that his identity would too be stolen

by another man. Luke 21:8 "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my
Davidson , Jr.7

name, claiming, 'I am he,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not follow them." This was the word of

Jesus to very naïve people of his time

Only God can give you a true spiritual identity.

God wants humans to understand that only he can give you your spiritual identity and that sin is

what will rob you of that (discipletoday.org).

My stance on identity theft is that it is illegal in the law of man, and it is also a sin in the

eyes of the catholic church. It is morally and legally wrong, but there are also ways that people

commit identity theft that doesn't always seem so wrong. Some people just need to change their

name in order to cross borders, or get a job, or plane ticket, and many other things that never

resulted in anyone getting their money stolen only their name and social status. Like the Mexican

man I talked about, he crossed the border using another name just so that he could work and get

money because he was poor.

In conclusion, People everywhere always are so lazy, but yet so eager to get whatever

they want whenever they want. The regular person would make their own efforts and their own

money to get the things they want, but there are also people who decide to take the easy way out.

Other people decide it is okay to steal and take. The facts and information show that racial

profiling is not just illegal in the law of man but is spiritually illegal in the eyes of Christ.
