MAIN ROLE:

Main Scope and General Purpose of Job:

Is responsible for the entire hotel operations. His scope of responsibilities c overs the financial
results (revenues, cost of sales, payroll & related expenses, other expenses, departmental
incomes, gross operating income (if notified), cash flow, new & replacement investments),
adherance to standards of product and service, management of human resources, and Sales &
Marketing strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

• Is responsible for the quality of the product.


• Controls hotel technique applications by the staff.
• Chooses the suppliers.
• Has the staff adhere to the product spirit and follows up.
• Is responsible to monitor the implementation of work ethic & norms as established by the
Head Office.
• Is responsible for the sales prices policy.
• Establishes the operating budget and financial forecast which he negotiates with his Director
of Hospitality Group.
• Optimizes the operating profit by permanent control of every account of the statement.
• Specially cares towards the cash flow by keeping the account receivable as low as possible as
well as a minimum stock.
• Proposes each year an investment program and justifies his options.
• Provides in due course all legal and internal documents.
• Keeps in proper shape all permanent assets of the hotel by a regular maintenance program
and the forecast of investments described in the budget and submitted to the Director of
Hospitality Group
• Keeps in perfect functioning shape all equipments by establishing a preventive maintenance
program.
• Is responsible for the application of security and maintenance policies.
• Looks into decoration aspects of the hotel in order to create a pleasant atmosphere for the
customers keeping in mind the product spirit and in coordination with the advice services of the
technical management.

Human Responsibilities:

• Is responsible for the staff turnover planning, recruitment of head of departments with the
approval of the Director of Hospitality Group and all the employees of the hotel with the advice
of the head of departments.
• Is in charge of the evolution of the career of his subordinates.
• Defines job descriptions and sets goals to each head of department.
• Is responsible for adhering to the salaries policies set on a regional basis.
• Decides rewards, sanctions and dismissals with the approval of the Director of Hospitality
Group
• Organizes appraisal and assessment meetings with the head of departments.
• Ensures that the information flow reaches all levels of hierarchy quantitatively and
qualitatively.
• Organizes regularly staff information meetings during which everybody can talk.
• Looks carefully into the good coordination between all departments.
• Develops creativity and participation among his team.
• Represents the group by his overall attitude towards customers and staff.

Commercial/Sales:

• Consult and implement daily the recommendations in inventory and distribution tools;
• Implement and communicate on minimum stay, closed to arrival, up-selling;
• Make recommendation for strategy changes in RMS, in relation to day types, ideal mix, close
limits, booking limits, to be able to react early to guest behavior changes (new events, etc);
• Optimize the distribution channels.

Relations/ Reporting Line

General Manager Bogor Valley Hotel reporting directly to Director of Hospitality Binakarya
Propertindo Group as holding company of Bogor Valley Hotel
Education/ Professional Experience

• Degree in Hotel Management school, or general Business school.


• Knowledge of the concepts and evaluation of market analysis processes.
• A clear understanding of hotel industry is necessary as well as analytical capabilities,
experience in study cases, market research and studies with mathematical background;
• Revenue Management
• Analytical tools
- Excel advanced user (most of the formulas; database knowledge, pivot tables);
- Revenue Management System
• Familiar with Technologies and distribution tools such as - PMS, CRS
• Communication skills : PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
• Languages: fluent in the national language, and excellent level in English
