POEM

after Carol Rama

sunstroke hits me like a falling

chandelier
on the last day

a mess of larvae
crawl inside my
mind
out my mouth

the soles of my feet

are shredded
bright color
and open at the sky

the rusted edges of my heart

cut up the atmosphere

non unitary love

my odd dispersal

my sanguine days
were ended with a hit
from above

I might break from

my solitary shell
my private tragedy
with the fluids of
a body and its shatters

and a mouth that dwarfs

my form

my reticence
to be known
because I am an animal

I blunder
