 Describe the all types of metamorphism.

Metamorphism consist of a few types like contact, regional, dynamic, retrograde and
autometamorphism. Contact metamorphism occurs when country rocks are surround by igneous
intrusion and the physical changes such as recrystallization occur when original minerals
permeated by magnetic fluid. Contact metamorphism can influenced by heat. Metamorphic rock
form in a baked zone. Next is regional metamorphism that the zone of alteration have large scale
than rock altred under contact metamorphism. Regional metamorphism occurs by effects of
temperature and pressure. Structural deformation experienced by the rock layers due to pressure
exerted on it. Metamorphism must occur in the crust at least at depth of 10 km and it responsible
for the forming of mountain.
Dynamic metamorphism just causes structural changes through the pressure. The minerals
do not changes chemically. Pressure and temperature process causes the shearing movement to
produce the cataclastic rocks or minerals. Then, retrograde metamorphism occurs where low grade
metamorphism that usually caused by pressure and the effects through the process can forming
schist or gneiss. Lastly, chemical fluid refilling process in rocks minerals during the cooling of the
rock mass called autometamorphism.

 Explain in details the different textures of metamorphic rock

Texture of metamorphic rock consist of two that foliated and non-foliated. Foliated have
texture like schist and gneiss while non-foliated have texture like marble and quartzite. In foliated,
resembles the bedding of sedimentary rocks is the parallel orientation of minerals grains within
the metamorphic rock. A few characteristic of schist texture are medium to coarse grained, platy
minerals predominate, commonly include the miccas, the schist can describe the texture and
minerals name are used to indicate composition. Gneiss is also have characteristic like medium to
coarse grained, banded appearance, high grade metamorphism and usually composed of white or
light coloured of feldspar-rich layers.
In non-foliated, deformation is minimal to develop the environments and usually consist
of minerals that exhibit equidimensional crystals. First texture in non-foliated is marble, marble
have characteristic like coarse and crystalline, limestone and dolostone is the parent rock of
marble texture, composed essentially of calcite or dolomite crystals, can used as a decorative and
monument stone and variety of colors exhibited. Then, quartzite texture is formed from a parent
rock of quartz-rich sandstone and quartz grains are fused together.
 Identify the uses of metamorphic rock in civil engineering.

One of them was Marble which is a metamorphic rock that comes from metamorphosed limestone
or dolomite .It was used widely in the making of floor, wall linings, table roofs, bath tubs, and
sculpture. Sometimes it was used as a decorative and monument stone Next, Slate which is a fined
grained metamorphic rock (obtained after the metamorphism of the shale ). It was widely used as
the roofing material in the hilly areas, cisterns and urinal separations. Lastly, Quartzite which is a
coarse-grained metamorphic rock derived from sandstone. It was widely used in order to cover
walls, as roofing tiles, as flooring, and stairsteps.

 Identify the parent rock of your samples before turn to metamorphic rocks

Dolomite Marble is a metamorphic rock that comes from metamorphosed limestone. While
,Garnet (Andradite) is a metamorphic rock that comes from metamorphosed Acid Igneous.,
Arkose. Next ,Diopside (Pyroxene Group) is a metamorphic rock that comes from metamorphosed
Basic Igneous .Crumbled Mica is a metamorphic rock that comes from metamorphosed Schist
Shale Mudstone or Tulf. Lastly, Red Slate is a metamorphic rock that comes from metamorphosed
Shale Mudstone or Tulf.

 Briefly explain the strength and stability of metamorphic rock in construction engineering
perspective

Strength of metamorphic rock in construction engineering perspective included Unaltered and

unfractured non-foliated metamorphic rocks which are considered as strong materials and
posses similar engineering properties igneous rocks. Unlucky, there was a few limitations for
foundations, tunnels and dams and remain stable for vertical excavation slopes.
Next,Stability of metamorphic rock in construction engineering perspective was Foliated
metamorphic rocks are more similar to sedimentary rocks because of their tendency to fail along
specific planes.
