Third generation missionaries church planting in Panama

www.missionsbeyond.com

New Hope Bible Institute opened the second week of March with 5 full time students
enrolled. We held special services each night that week and on the final night, four men who
are currently pastoring were officially ordained into the ministry. We praise God for the
faithfulness of Aquilino, Alcibiades, Esteban, and Ramon. Ethan’s class, Personal
Evangelism, was offered to the entire church and he had 18 students. Two students,
Mirian and Clementina, accepted Christ as Savior.

We hosted a missions team from Grace Bible Baptist Church in Indiana at the end
of March. They did construction and electrical work in a house for our Costa Rican
co-worker, Alex Taylor. Alex plans to get married later this year to Elsa, who is a
Ngäbe nurse. Their main ministries are the Bible Institute and camp. One of the
women from the missions team, Lacey Ritter, is staying for three months. She is
primarily teaching English in the Lighthouse Girls Home, the Bible Institute, and to
the church kids. She also is helping out with activities in the church and the comarca.
English is vital here in Panama. Some public schools are switching to a system where
most subjects are taught IN ENGLISH. For many people, this is their third language
(Ngäbere, Spanish, and English). Lacey is praying about the possibility of full time
mission work. Please pray for her as she seeks God’s will for her life.

There have been exciting developments concerning the land purchase for the
aviation ministry and Bible Institute/camp. The owner attempted to change the deal
and pressured us to pay him before we even signed a contract. Since we need to be
good stewards of the money God has entrusted us with, we didn’t feel comfortable
moving forward dealing with that man. God blessed that decision and showed us
another property for sale. We have signed a purchase agreement for 22.7 acres
at $90,000 and should be closing the deal soon! This property is less money per
square foot and has a better layout. We only lack $13,400 to have the land paid in full,
plus $1500 for closing costs. We invite work teams to come help develop the land. If
you are interested, please contact us at missionsbeyond@me.com for more details.
