Hi,

i will explain with an example.

we are in construcion industry and in one

department(cost center: CC1000) we have
3(A,B and C) cars.

in SAP i have created cost center CC1000

and i have to book expenses related to 3
cars, like fuel costs and service costs etc...

When you book costs for cars, all are

posted to cost center:CC1000 and you
cant seperate costs per car.How do you
report feul costs and service costs for
each car in SAP?

in this case you create statitstical internal

order for each car.

like for Car A: IO-A, Car B:IO-B and Car

C:IO-C

when you book costs, you will senter Cost

cener CC1000 and statistical Internal
order : IO-A for car A and so on

when you wants to report each car

seperatly, goto interal order report or cost
center report and bring required fields.you
will see costs per car by statistical orders.

hope this helps you.

Thanks,

Rau

Hi,

Cost center :

A cost center is part of an organization that does not produce

direct profit and adds to the cost of running a company.
Examples of cost centers include research and development
departments, marketing departments, help desks and customer
service/contact centers.

A cost center as you will know is for fixed reporting for a long
time span as part of your company structure (cost center usually
= department or work center).

Statistical internal order:

Internal orders can also be used as "statistical" orders. This is

also specified in the setup of the order. You do not have to settle
statistical orders. When posting costs, you will post to the cost
center and the order simultaneously. Both have to be specified
when posting journals or purchase orders against statistical
orders.

statistical internal orders are used for reporting purpose

only.these are always used in combination with one real cost
objects(e.g cost center.)

Hope this helps you.

Thanks,

Rau

In cost centre accounting you do responsibility accounting - who
was responsible for incurring the costs. This is generally where
costs are recorded. To analyse further, costs are sometimes
posted to a statistical order AS WELL. Note that a statistical
order is not a cost object, so a cost centre is also needed.
