Western Civilization

General Description of Western Civilization

The Western Civilization is achieved from cultural values and practices derived from

Europe or other countries with cultural practices and philosophical foundation that are affiliated

with the European heritage. In this essence, the general description of the western civilization

can be promoted based on the share heritage influences achieved in both the cultural and

philosophical dimensions. The Western Civilization influences are categorized into Greco-

Roman influences and Judeo-Christian Influences (Helmuth, 2012). Here, the Greco-Roman

influence were the Greek and the Roman cultural influences. On the other hand, the Judeo-

Christian influence includes the Jewish and the Christians who were the offshoot of Judaism.

For that matter, it is evident that the nature of the western civilization culture is achieved by a

commitment to different cultural understandings and practices. In that, the major players in

influencing the Western Civilization is influenced by both demographic and religious factors.

The goal of Western Civilization

There are several goals that can be derived from the establishment and implementation

of the Western Civilization. Other than social values, the establishment and the implementation

of the Western Civilization can also be achieved for both economic and cultural intentions. The

Western Civilization symbolizes the strategic need to promote the cultural identity of the

western population (Samuel, 2007). Being a region of diverse societies, the establishment of

the civilized culture within the western region was to promote a cultural environment that

incorporates the interest of all the social members that makes up the western population.

Relevantly, as far as the historical establishment of the western region is concerned, the

culture of the western population is aimed at promoting a dignified environment for the purpose

of proving its global superpower initiative (AJO History of Ophthalmology Series: 1066: The

Eye Injury that Changed Western Civilization, 2009). The western region has been

acknowledged to be the global superpower ever since the end of the Second World War. It has

always been in its best position to portray cultural values and practices that prove its civilized

structure as compared to the rest of the world. In that, the rest of the global country would

promote their decisions in reference to the western cultural values and practices. With this, the

western region would be at their best position to ascertain the superpower initiative.

Another goal that can be derived from the establishment and the implementation of the

western civilization revolves around the promotion of social values. Being a country of

different communities with the different cultural background, the promotion of a civilized

status is aimed at ensuring that the interest of all the communities that makes up the western

population is engaged in leadership decisions (Helmuth, 2012). Economically, it is also

acknowledging that the main goal of promoting the western civilization was to ensure a

complete embracement of an encouraging economy. Such economic related values are derived

from policies and rules that promote appreciable response to the international relations as well

as the internal social empowerment (Ronnie, 2010). Therefore, it is relevant to promote the

ideological understanding that the main intention of the western civilization is to encourage or

promote concrete response to the social, economic, and cultural values of the western region

and its engaged populations as well as affiliates.

People who had Impacted on the Western Civilization

There are several people who had influence in the establishment of the western

civilization. However, among such people who plaid, a crucial role in the existence of the

western civilization is Adolf Hitler and Napoleon Bonaparte. The Adolf Hitler was one of the

dictators of the ancient days with valuable influence to the establishment of the western

civilization (Samuel, 2007). He was one man who greatly influenced the existence of the first

and Second World War that motivated the establishment of the current state of western

populations. It was through his engagement in the Second World War that the West came to

realize the need for the civilized life that market the post second world war. Relevantly, being

a leader that focused on the future of his nation, Napoleon Bonaparte played an important role

in promoting civilization in the West (RADHAKAMAL, 2014). Just like the manner in which

Adolf Hitler influenced the existence of the western civilization, same applied to Napoleon

Bonaparte except for the fact that he was a bit focused on the future of the west other than an

individual interest as was portrayed by Adolf Hitler.

Accomplishments of Western Civilization

The accomplishment of the western civilization can be realized based on the current

status of the western countries. However, such status can always be viewed in both the

economic philosophical stands and social factors. Here, among a key element of achievements

that marks the western civilization include reason, individual rights, and science and

technology (Helmuth, 2012). Of course, as far as educational achievements are concerned, it is

historically evident that the first globally society to acknowledge that philosophical

understandings can be achieved through reasoning and applied logic are the Greeks. Legally,

it is confirmed within the historical grounds that John Locke was the first one to recommend a

government that protects the civilians. Finally, the relevance of philosophical reasoning and

logistics within the western culture positively influenced the existence of the science and

technological innovations in scientific reasoning. Therefore, following the achieved evidence,

it is relevant to promote that the reason, technology and science, and individual rights are

among the beneficial accomplishments of the western civilization.
