NATURE OF WORK A neurologist specializes in diagnosis of all diseases and disabilities of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, muscles, and autonomic nervous systems. Also all of the blood vessels that relate to these systems. EDUCATION AND TRAINING NEEDED You will need 4 years as an undergraduate working to get your bachelors degree. There will be another 4 years spent in medical school. After completion of medical school, you will undertake a one year internship, followed by a three year residency.
