ABOUT WORLD BOOK DAY
World Book Day is a celebration of books and authors. It is a period to
1

pay tribute to books, and encourage everyone, particularly young

people to discover the pleasure of reading. Children who are not in
school are more vulnerable to child labour and abuse.

However, while some children have access to quality education, can

read and write, there are millions of children most of whom are
displaced that lack access to education and learning materials, and
forced into labour, and often experience abuses.

To commemorate this 2016 World Book Day and Children Day, we

partnered with UNICEF to make donation to internally displaced
children to inspire, encourage and motivate to learn read and write.
This is a strategy to reduce child labour and abuse. Children at IDP face
many exploitation.
