Lab 5 Finder
Objective: The objective of this lab is to:
 Familiarize the student with the finder.
 Show how to integrate the finder into system troubleshooting.

1. I/O Reports:
1) Open your .tcw file and open the G1 device Component Editor. From the menu,
select View > Reports > I/O > Configuration. Select Report > Change Columns
2) Select the information you want included in the report by using the arrow buttons to
move the field from the selectable column (left side) to the viewable column (right
side) or vice versa. Click OK to generate the report.

3) To save this file as a .csv file, select File > Save Report from the menu.

2. Digital Tracing:

1) From the I/O Variable Report locate the L4HR. (CTRL+F)


2) This signal is connected to IO Pack_______.and Relay no._______.
3) Double click on the signal name to go to hardware connection in the ToolboxST file.
4) Connect to the controller . Force the output = 1. Check on the Motor screen.
5) Once it is working, remove the force.
6) Click on the signal name attached to the I/O point.
7) Click on the Where Used tab in the InfoView area.
8) Go to the location where the signal value is written .
9) Continue to trace signals through the software to find out which I/P(s) prevent L4HR
from being true?………………………...

3. Forced Variables List:


-By Using Finder Tool (CTRL+F), , Find out signal L4QCZ.
-Force it and toggle its value.
-From the menu, select View > Forced Variables. A list of forced signals should
appear. You can remove all forces by right-clicking the forced variables window and
selecting Remove All Forces.

4. Text/Address tab:
a) Fill out the following information for the location where G1.L4T is written .
