SKILLS
As a worker I am capable of, and enjoy working independently. However, I recognise the importance
of working as part of a group as having different people contribute, and add different ways of
thinking will always be beneficial to completing a task.
I strive to be highly organised and punctual. In my final year of Secondary School, I achieved one
hundred percent attendance and was on time to every lesson, I aim to maintain this level of
punctuality into any future job.
I am a casual player of the guitar, I also play football three times a week for Hayfield Juniors football
club. Running, reading and trips to the cinema are also amongst my hobbies.

EXPERIENCE
New Mills School - Groundskeeper

● Fulfilling the role of groundskeeper at New Mills School my tasks consisted of removing
moss and overgrown greenery from the school walkways to make the premises more
wheelchair accessible, general litter picking and tidying up of the school and overseeing the
removal of waste from garden work at the school.

Sett Valley Cafe - Kitchen Assistant and Waiter

● During my summer job at Sett Valley Cafe I acquired many useful skills and gained valuable
experience with customers. I learned appropriate ways to greet customers and the
importance of a friendly, relaxed worker-customer relationship. In addition to this, working
in the kitchen forced me to work in a fast paced and challenging environment. I improved
my ability to act quickly on verbal instructions and I am now a more confident and able
worker.

DJS Research - Junior Telephone Interviewer

● I am currently employed at DJS research, an independent market research company. I have

the part time role of junior telephone interviewer. My role consists of being assigned and
briefed on a project to complete, and then contacting members of the public over the phone
to answer a series of questions to collect their responses and opinions. I have been an
employee of DJS research for 8 months now, the money that I earn from the job is used to
pay for driving lessons and all the other additions that come with the process of learning to
drive. When I first got the job, I was able to settle in very quickly and get to grips with all the
technical aspects of the job, I was able to apply what I had learned from working in the cafe
to my current job straight away, I do well in the position and often exceed the expected ratio
of completed questionnaires. This job has allowed me to develop my communication skills,
my ability to act quickly on requests and work well in a team, all of these skills I intend to
carry over into any future job.
